Sip & Swipe Café® Offered
What is a Sip n Swipe Café? It is a place where older adults can get free self-paced lessons on how to use a tablet or smartphone. A coach works with the learner to provide support and answer questions. The Café offers an easy, free, and safe way to learn how to use a tablet or smartphone. It is designed for those who have never touched a computer. Folks who use a computer but wish to learn how to use a tablet or smartphone are also invited to attend.
The free 4-hour program covers the basics of the device – how to turn it on and how to perform activities, where the buttons are located, etc. You will also learn how to search the Internet to find information on any topic. In addition, you will learn about using email, apps, how to use the camera and access photos, and how to use YouTube to watch videos of all types.
Sip & Swipe Café® is being offered at two locations: the Shinglehouse Senior Center on Thursday and Friday, June 13 and 14, 2024, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.; and the Education Council’s Coudersport office at 5 Water Street on Tuesday and Thursday, June 18 and 20, 2024, from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Registration is required.
