Sinnemahone Trail Run Results

Perfect conditions for runners in the Sinnemahone Ultra Trail Run. This years event included a new route eliminating most private property and having the most participants compete in the 50k since the inception of the race nearly 20 years ago. Also new was adding the option to run the 50k as a relay team.
Finishing first in the 12k was 23 year old Raul Burne from Georgia with a time of 1:04:03. Euginia Resendiz Clark from Emporium finished second with a time of 1:08:05.
Cleo Bradybaugh from Kane has competed four times in the Sinnemahone Ultra Trail Run. This time the 32-year-old participated in the 25k and finished first with a time of 2:36:37. The first place male runner was 16 year old Raymond Stoltzfus from Lykens. Also competing in the 25k was a mother/son duo who has roots in Emporium. 77-year-old Nancy Vierhaus and 43-year-old Eric Vierhaus now live in California. The pair finished the event in under five hours.
The 50k included 31 competitors. Coming in first was 28 year old Jerome Martin from Liverpool with a time of 4:25:38. The first woman to cross the finish line was 34 year old Concetta Macko from Homestead with a time of 6:17:31.
The first relay team to cross the finish line consisted of Steve VanEerden, Valerie VanBreugel and Brock McCullough in a time of 7:47:01.
Cameron County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Tina Solak says the chamber organizes the event as a way to draw attention to the county and its businesses. This year competitors came from across the state and Idaho, California, New York, Maryland, Georgia and Ohio. “Following the 12k race, competitors and relatives packed downtown business that were open for breakfast,” says Solak. In addition many booked overnight stays allowing tie to recover and sight see.
