Sherry L. Simon, 53, of State Street, St. Marys, PA passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, following a brief illness.

She was born on October 13, 1969 in St. Marys, a daughter of Joyce Reed Simon, who survives.

Sherry was a lifelong resident of the area and member of the Methodist Church. She graduated from St. Marys Area High School, class of 1991. Over the years, Sherry was very active with and enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics, especially swimming and track and field.

She loved all animals and always loved saying hello to any babies she came across. She enjoyed attending her cousin Char’s picnic each year, and also loved the holidays. Sherry loved and was loved by all, and greatly enjoyed spending time with her family.

In addition to her mother with whom she made her home, she is survived by one sister; Teresa Simon of St. Marys, by a niece; Chalsea Simon, a nephew; Casey Simon; 6 great-nieces; Cassandra, Emma, Kaylee, Casey, Ashlynn, and Alyssa, and by one great-nephew; Jace. She is also survived by her father; John Simon, and by two half-siblings; Yvonne Swartz of Warren, and Bradley Simon, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In addition to her maternal and paternal grandparents, Sherry was preceded in death by two uncles; Francis Reed and Dale Reed.

Funeral Services for Sherry L. Simon will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Lynch-Green Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Friday, September 1, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 PM.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Elk County Humane Society or to the Penn Highlands Community Nurses.
