Sandra L. “Sandie” Ehrensberger, 73, of St. Marys
Sandra L. “Sandie” Ehrensberger, 73, of St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 8, 2024, at Penn Highlands DuBois.
She was born on June 21, 1951 in St. Marys, a daughter of the late Earl and Clara Ferris VanAlstine.
On August 9, 1969, she married the love of her life, George Ehrensberger, who survives. Together they were blessed with more than 55 years of love, laughter, and marriage.
Sandie was a graduate of St. Marys High School, class of 1969. She was a member of Queen of the World Church and worked for many years as the Manager of the shoe department at Fishers Big Wheel and then at Ames, always enjoying the friends she made along the way. She then worked for a time at Wolfe Eye Care and drove the handicap bus for Muccio Bus Lines.
Sandie never turned down the opportunity to play Bingo, and also loved puzzles. One thing that brought her great joy was Sunday car rides, and she always delighted in photographing wildlife while out for a drive with her husband. A dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, Sandie adored her family and loved nothing more than spending time with them.
In addition to her husband, George, she is survived by five children; Denise Ehrensberger of Denver, CO, Rebecka (William) Roxby of Emporium, Hope (Andy) Klaiber of St. Marys, Eric (Karen Gallagher) Ehrensberger of St. Marys, and Earl (Amy) Ehrensberger of Monessen, PA; and by her seven beloved grandchildren. She is also survived by five siblings; Vernon “Butch” (Janice) VanAlstine of St. Marys, Regis (Barbara) VanAlstine of Austin, Keith VanAlstine of St. Marys, Connie (William “Skip”) Heeter of St. Marys and Jackie (Ron) Fingado of St. Marys, as well as by a sister-in-law, Judy VanAlstine of St. Marys and by numerous nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
In addition to her parents, Sandie was preceded in death by two siblings; Robert VanAlstine and Linda Schwabenbauer.
A Celebration of Life for Sandra L. Ehrensberger will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home. 151 N. Michael St., St. Marys, PA 15857.
Burial will be at a later date.
Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Green Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 12, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
