Ryan R. Taylor, 39, of California and formerly of St. Marys

Ryan R. Taylor, 39, of California and formerly of St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, December 6, 2025.
He was born November 3, 1986, in St. Marys, son of Leroy and Anna Salerno Taylor. In his youth, Ryan was always in motion-rollerblading with fearless joy, learning new songs to play on the guitar, and surrounding himself with friendships that he cherished. He graduated from Elk County Catholic High School in 2005 and earned his degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He carried the same warmth, curiosity, and openness into adulthood and moved to California.
Unconventional by nature, he approached life with curiosity and authenticity, guided by what felt meaningful rather than what was typical. Ryan lived with intention, valuing creativity and learning. He spent much of his free time in the library reading and writing, losing himself in stories and creating his own. He enjoyed cooking, turning simple ingredients into something comforting and meaningful. Ryan had a desire to understand the world a little more deeply. He was a kind person to everyone that crossed his path and had a quiet way of making people feel seen and understood by offering kindness without judgment and friendship without condition. Those who knew Ryan will remember his gentle humor and thoughtful conversations.
Though his life was far too short, Ryan’s kindness and spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
He will be loved and missed by his parents, Lee and Anna; his sisters: Rachael Taylor of Charlotte, NC and Maddison Taylor of Hoboken, NJ; his brother, Justin Taylor of Jeannette, PA; niece Ava Taylor; and Grandmother Betty Taylor; and Lee’s wife, Julie.
Ryan was preceded in death by grandparents, Anthony and Francesca Salerno and Richard Taylor.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 315 Church Street, St. Marys, PA 15857 on Friday December 19, 2025 at 12:00PM with Rev. Ignatius Camello, O.S.B., celebrating.
Visitation will be held in the St. Mary’s Catholic Church from 11:00AM until the time of Mass.
Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to help defray costs of final expenses for Ryan. Checks can be made payable to Lynch- Radkowski Funeral Home, 169 Center Street, St Marys, PA 15857 or sent to Ryan’s family.
