Ruth, “Loving Mother, Grandmother & Sister” of Scio New York, sadly left our world on Wednesday (June 19, 2024) surrounded by family.
She was born on January 23,1940, in the town of Ward and was the daughter of Morris and Doris Goodridge Ward. On May 31, 1958, in Wellsville, she married the love of her life, Ralph R. Middaugh, who passed away in 2017.
Ruth retired from Cuba Memorial Hospital with 32 years of service, where she was known for her dedication and compassion in the housekeeping department. She loved cooking and canning, especially her famous sugar cookies, and bringing friends and family together to share a meal at her table. Above all, she cherished the moments spent with her children, grandchildren and friends. Ruth always had a kind word and a listening ear, and her unwavering support will be deeply missed. She instilled in those around her the importance of family, hard work, and living life to the fullest.
Ruth is survived by 3 children, Steven R. Middaugh of Belfast, Wayne (Valerie) Middaugh of Scio, Lori A. (Bruce) Smith of Webster; 7 Grandchildren, Steve (Joleen) Middaugh, Jr., Jason (Tiffany) Middaugh, Cassy (Kyle) Crowner, Wayne (Kim) Middaugh II., Robbie (Lauren) Smith, Conner (Jordan) Smith, Bryce Middaugh; 11 great-grandchildren, Brooke, Xavier, Harley, Bradley, Marlaina, Xaiden, Hailey, Libby, Rhys, Sawyer, Nolan; 4 sisters, Phyllis (Ronald, deceased) Young of Lockport, Lillian (Donald) Pye of Wellsville, Norma (Donald) Middaugh of Friendship, and MaryLou (Donald) Drake of Angelica.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Barbara Keiser and her brother Lloyd Ward.
Friends will be received on Monday, June 24,2024 from 3:00 to 6:00pm at the Letro-McIntosh-Spink Funeral Home, Inc., 24 Genesee Pkwy, Cuba. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at 1:00pm where the Rev. Marc J. Chamberlin will officiate. Burial will be in Knights Creek Cemetery.
