COUDERSPORT, PA—Ronald D. Nelson, 82, a lifelong resident of Coudersport, died February 2, 2024, with his loving family by his side in UPMC Cole, Coudersport.
He was born September 2, 1941, in Coudersport, the son of Arnold and Antoinette “Tillie” Walaski Nelson.
Ron proudly graduated from the Coudersport High School, Class of 1959 and attended Williamsport Technical Institute and served NFG as a Corrosion Specialist. After his retirement, he landed his dream job at Coolridge Potato Farm.
He married fellow classmate, Kristine Fisher. They celebrated 60 wonderful years of marriage and made many memories at Red Pine. They have three daughters, Lori (Gregory) Sevinsky of Lisbon, NH, Teri (Brent) Beacker of Coudersport and Aimee (Arnold) Wykoff of Kunkletown, PA; five grandchildren, Regan (Pete) Sevinsky, Tara (Nick) Gregsak, Skyler (Tim) Gaberseck, Logan (Amber) Marshall and Alexis (Brock) Wilson; 6 great grandchildren, Tye, Brynn, Joseph, Kane, Garrett, Anna and two precious ones on the way.
Throughout his life he cherished his family above all else, starting with his mother Tillie, sisters Beverly Coppersmith and Ruth Hults (deceased) and brother Arnold Nelson, along with several nieces and nephews.
Ron was a loyal member of the Knights of Columbus where he earned his 4th Degree. He was involved with the Coudersport Jaycees, St. Eulalia Yardbirds, and he lived by the motto of serving others. He was an avid Coudersport Falcon sports fan, fisherman, hunter, golfer and outdoorsman. He was also well known for his canning, pickling and jerky making.
Family and friends may call from 10am to 11am on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at the St. Eulalia Gathering Space, 6 Maple Street, Coudersport. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am in St. Eulalia Catholic Church, with the Rev. Christopher Wheeler, as celebrant. Burial will be in Sweden Hill Cemetery, Coudersport.

Ron’s family entrusted his care to Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse.
