Ronald C. “Ron” Kerr, 92, of Wellsboro, PA.
Ronald C. “Ron” Kerr, 92, of Wellsboro, passed away Sunday December 29, 2024, peacefully in his home. He was born August 12, 1932, in Latrobe, PA to Wilbur T. and Edna Mae (Spangler) Kerr. He graduated from Blairsville High School in 1950, and on September 24, 1954, he married Jean Lydick with whom he shared 70 years of marriage. After serving in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict, Ron worked for Bell Telephone (now Verizon), eventually becoming an Outside Plant Engineer.
Ron was a member of the United Methodist Church of Wellsboro, a 65-year Mason, Bell Pioneers, a member of Eastern Star, the VFW, the Sinnemahoning Sportsman’s Association, an endowment member of the NRA, and former member of the Wellsboro Lions. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors of rural Pennsylvania. Ron was devoted to, took great pleasure in, and had intense love for his family and friends, his country, and his God and he unselfishly served them well.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Kerr of Wellsboro, a daughter, Sharon Kerr (Dana Blewett) of FL, a daughter-in-law, Carol Jean Kerr of TX, six grandchildren: Robert (Caitlin), Brett (Amy), and Gregory Gunnells of FL, Camaren Kerr of Wellsboro, Justin (Amanda) Kerr of TX, and Brittany (Kerr) Price of Wellsboro, ten great-grandchildren: Willow Gunnells, Hailie, Braxton, and Bentley Kerr, Kelvin and Ardyn Kerr, Hayden Sharp, Eean and McKara Butler, Kyndahl Mead, Ashtynn and Peytynn (Kerr) Price, a sister: Karen Duke of TX, and decades-long hunting buddies: Ron Cobes, James Wright, John Price, Dana Blewett, John Kuklinski, and good friend John Zoller. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons: Brian and Eric Kerr, and two brothers: Boyd and Jack Kerr.
In accordance with Ron’s wishes, his arrangements have been entrusted to the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main Street Wellsboro, PA 16901, and there will be no public services.
