Roger Dale Tingue, 67, of 3 Bayberry Court, Bradford
Roger Dale Tingue, 67, of 3 Bayberry Court, Bradford, passed away, Friday, January 3, 2025, surrounded by his loving family at his home.
Born February 20, 1957, Springville NY, he was the son of the late Clarence “Bub” Tingue and Mary (Hess) Tingue-May.
He was raised in West Valley NY and graduated from West Valley High School in 1975.
Roger was a man of many talents, unshakable kindness and an ever-present sense of humor. He touched countless lives with his craft, stories and love. Roger was an independent contractor and master carpenter whose work stood as a testament to his exceptional skill and artistry.
Over the years he built homes for luminaries such as Ike and Tina Turner and R.J. Reynolds. He worked all throughout the United States yet, some of his most cherished projects were the homes he built or remodeled for his family, his siblings, children, nieces and nephews, leaving a legacy of not just structures but, of love and connections.
He poured his heart into creating a special place called the Hall of Fame for Mothers in West Valley NY.
This site was a tribute to his mother whose profound faith and sacrifice shaped the man he became. This place has become home to the family reunions for the past 25 years.
Roger prioritized his family and friends above all else and was known for his unique voice and weekly phone calls that always ended with a “Love Ya Bye”. He could light up any room with his stories, jokes and his remarkable memory for people, music and songs. He was a gifted poet and artist who often said “Carpentry pays the bills but, Artistry is my heart”.
An avid lover of antiques and history, he appreciated the beauty of the past. He embodied compassion and a deep love of life that will forever be missed. We will carry his stories, his laughter, and his love in our hearts always.
On December 25, 2009, in St. Augustine Fl, he married Cathleen Ann (Joshnick) Tingue who survives.
