Robert Louis Deitrick, 95, Of Belleview, FL., Formerly Of Coudersport, PA
Robert Louis Deitrick, known affectionately as Bob, passed away on August 30, 2024, at the age of 95, in Belleview, FL. Born on May 10, 1929, in Coudersport, PA, Bob was a man of honor and dedication.
Bob proudly served in the US Navy from 1948 to 1952 during the Korean Conflict. As an aircraft mechanic, he was stationed on the USS Palau, USS Coral Sea, and USS Midway, contributing significantly to the Navy’s efforts during a pivotal time in history. After his honorable discharge, he returned to his hometown, where he began a long-standing career. Bob initially worked in Auto Body and Paint at DeCarlo Pontiac, and then embarked on a 31-year tenure as a beloved mail carrier for the US Post Office in Coudersport.
Bob was a devout member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Belleview, FL, and St. Eulalia Catholic Church in Coudersport, PA, where he participated actively in the community. Bob was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a Life member of the American Legion.
Surviving Bob is his son, Dennis Deitrick of Belleview, FL; two grandchildren, Nichole (Deitrick) Rogers of Coudersport, PA, and Phillip Deitrick with his wife Amy of Lexington, NC; four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Ruth (Balaski) Deitrick, and his beloved wife of 50 years, Elsie (Atkinson) Deitrick.
Memorials can be made to the American Legion Post 192 in Coudersport, PA, or to the Knights of Columbus Council 1355, also in Coudersport. Baldwin Bros. Funeral Home in Ocala, FL, is assisting the family with arrangements.
