Richard A. Ford, 79, of Second Street, Roulette, PA passed away Friday (April 7, 2023) in Sena Kean Manor, Smethport.
Born July 19, 1943, in Fort Pierce, Fla., he was the son of Azel R. and Adroncia J. Fischer Ford. On July 22, 1967, in Coleville, he married Jane M. Barber, who survives. They were married 55 years.
Richard was a lifelong resident of the area and a graduate of the Smethport Area High School, class of 1962.
He was employed with Bell Telephone Co., and most recently with the Department of Environmental Protection Agency, as a state inspector for oil & gas, retiring in 2004.
He was a member of the Riverside United Methodist Church, Roulette, and a former member of F.& A.M. Lodge 342, Coudersport, and Coudersport Consistory.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Jane, is a stepson, Mark A. (Trecia) Meacham of Sinclairsville, N.Y.; two stepdaughters, Maxine M. (Terry) Morey of Roulette, Dawn M. Homell of Duke Center; 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Beverly J. (Lester) Long of Richmond, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Donald R. and David W. Ford.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday (April 10, 2023) in the Switzer Funeral Home, Port Allegany, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., with the Rev. Matt Howe, pastor of the Riverside United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
