Raymond P. Burlingame, 85, of Smethport, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Sena-Kean Manor.

He was born on December 25, 1938 in Round Lake Township, MN, a son of the late Homer and Gladys Schmaus Burlingame.

On October 12, 1997 in Sanford, NY, he married Genevieve I. Roberts who survives.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served from April 1958 until his honorable discharge in April 1962.

He was a member of the International Association of Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers for 50+ years.  He was the former “President” of the Men’s Room, Hilton, NY and he was an avid fisherman.

He was employed by the Leo J. Roth Corp., Webster, NY for 30 years; retiring in 1993.

In addition to his wife of twenty-six years, Genevieve Burlingame of Smethport he is also survived by four children, Linda Torres of Fort Lauderdale, FL, John Sheffer of Smethport, Tim (Dianne) Sheffer of Eldred and Bill (Ruby) Sheffer of Portville, NY; one sister, Elaine (Larry) Nelson of Albuquerque, NM; four grandchildren, William Michael Sheffer, Jordyn Taylor Sheffer, Timothy “TJ” Sheffer and Kiesha “Angel” Sheffer and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents; he was also preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
