Potter County Artisan Co-op plans events and classes in February

On Friday, February 9 from 5-8pm, the Potter County Artisan Co-op will be hosting a Valentine’s Day Open House. Live music, food and drinks will be offered, as well as locally made gifts for purchase. Live music will be played by Dana Daisley. Registration is not required.
The Potter County Artisan Co-op will hold a ‘White Elephant Clearance Sale’ starting Monday, February 12 and continuing through to Saturday, February 17, during Artisan Co-op hours of 12:00 – 4:00 pm. Items for sale include the following: household items, craft items, baby items and more.
A beginner watercolor class will be taught by artist, Laurie Angood, titled, ‘Signs of Spring.’ Learn to paint tulips, pussy willows, forsythia and more. This class is being held on Saturday, February 17 from 1-3. All materials, including artist quality paint, and paper provided. For attending, students are given a take home gift bag with watercolor paper and a filled watercolor palette. Price of class is $35.00. Please call the Artisan Co-op to register at 814-274-8165.
The Potter County Artisan Center will be hosting an ‘Afternoon Tea for Ladies’ on Sunday, February 18 at 2:00pm. Join us for tea tastings, scones, finger sandwiches, and sweets. We sill also be planting mini succulent gardens to take home. The cost is $15.00 per person or 2 persons for $25.00. Bring your daughter, your mom, your sister, your aunt or friend. Ages 12 and up. Back by popular demand, the Young Artisans will be ‘Painting with Bubbles’ this month, on Thursday, February 22, from 3:00-4:30. All materials and refreshments provided. Price of class is $25.00. Please call the Artisan Co-op to register at 814-274-8165.
Curt Weinhold will be teaching a beginner/intermediate photography class at the Potter County Artisan Center on Saturday, Feb. 24 from 1;30 pm – 3;00 pm. Curt is a PaWilds Juried Artisan, former wedding photographer and teaches starry sky photography at Cherry Springs State Park. Curt will teach students how to set up their cameras for varying subjects and acquaint them with shutter speed, f-stop and ISO. Also covered in this class; the importance of proper lighting, photo composition, landscape photography and portraits. This class is geared towards cameras with interchangeable lenses (DSLR). Please bring cameras to class.
