Port Allegany Lions Club presented A Grisly History of Port Allegany
The Port Allegany Lions Club presented A Grisly History of Port Allegany – a walking tour including the first murder in the borough of Port Allegany, the curious tale of Uzza Robbins and an unsolved murder mystery. The tours were held between 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and began on the Town Square and covered about five blocks. Ending the tour was a presentation by the historical society at Union Cemetery.
Refreshments were served following the cemetery presentation at The Inn On Maple Street. Pictured: Mayor George Riley, who led one of the walking tours, is pictured with PAHS students Connor Valentine, Thomas Beeson and Chloe Triplett who assisted with the presentation at Union Cemetery. The walks had 87 people participate and the proceeds of the event went to the Canoe Place Historical Society.
