Penny Sue Succowich, age 74 of Carter Camp passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 22, 2024. Born December 27, 1949 in Cowanesque, she was the daughter of the late Phillip A. “Pete” and Roselyn (Walker) Kent.

Penny graduated in 1967 from Cowanesque Valley High School and in 1973 from Empire Beauty School. She owned and operated Penny Succowich Beauty Salon in Galeton from 1975 – 2006 and was a stock car driver from 1981 – 1986 at Woodhull and Smethport Raceway.

Penny married Harry “Bill” Succowich on February 8, 1969 in Galeton, PA; together they shared 55 loving years and raised two sons. She enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling, gambling, decorating cakes, shopping and had love for dogs.

She is survived by her husband, Bill; sons, Scott and Cindy Succowich and Jim and Kellie Succowich of Germania; grandchildren, Seth (Katelyn Bowen) Succowich of Germania, Tressa Succowich of Powder Springs, GA and Ava Succowich of Germania; step grandchildren, Chuck Mead of Germania and Cale (Theresa) Mead of Westfield; step great grandchildren, Owen and Avery Mead of Westfield; sisters, Sandy and Dennis Houghtaling of Addison, NY, Petie and Andrew St. Peter of Westfield, Jo and Ralph Wolstenholme of Westfield, Tammy and Mike Baker of Westfield and Jackie and Jimmy Megnin of Westfield; sister in law, Toni Yilek of Germania; brother in law, Tom Hollenbaugh of Westfield and many nieces and nephews.

Penny was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Linda Hollenbaugh. Family will receive friends at the Kenyon Funeral Home, 222 W. Main St., Westfield on Friday, October 25th from 6:00 – 8:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, 11:00 AM at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, Westfield with Father Chris Wheeler officiating.
