PennDOT to Close Route 22 Westbound On-Ramp in Lewistown

Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced plans to close the on-ramp to Route 22 westbound accessible via Route 522 (Walnut Street) in Lewistown Borough on Monday, July 21. This project will improve ride quality, drainage, and extend the service life of the ramp.

While the ramp is closed, traffic will follow a detour using Route 522, Route 1017 (Walnut Street), and Route 1005 (Valley Street) to access Route 22 westbound. PennDOT expects this closure to remain in place for three weeks. All schedules are weather-dependent.

Work for this contract includes concrete removal and roadway reconstruction, paving, pavement marking, and miscellaneous construction. HRI, Inc., of State College, PA, is the contractor for this $413,000 project.
