PENN WELLS HOTEL LOUNGE AND COURTYARD ARE OPEN FOR DRINKS AND FOOD THIS SATURDAY, FEB. 8
Beginning at 11 a.m. this Saturday, Feb. 8, in the Penn Wells Hotel at 62 Main Street in Wellsboro, the full bar in the lounge will be open and a food menu will be available. Burning, crackling logs in the fireplace will spread warmth throughout the room, which is filled with tables and chairs
From 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. this Saturday, the Courtyard, outdoors behind the Hotel, will also be open to the public. It is near the door to the lounge. There will be seating, heaters and a table with a propane fire pit in the Courtyard where people can enjoy a cocktail and dinner.
An eight-foot ice bar with an ice luge will be assembled in the Courtyard and be open from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Drinks will be poured into the top of the luge, are chilled as they flow through the icy channel and into a glass, ready for drinking.
At the ice bar, there will be specialty ice luge cocktails in keeping with Wellsboro’s “Ice and Spice” Winter Weekend theme. The specialty ice luge cocktails include: aTito’s Martini, a Grey Goose Cosmo, a Maker’s Mark Manhattan, a Scarlet Spice and a Jalapeno Margarita as well as a variety of shots, wines by the glass, bottled beers and New Trail West Coast IPA on draft.
A DJ will provide music from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Why the ice bar? Ellen Dunham Bryant, president of the Wellsboro Hotel Company, responded, “Our Chamber has done a great job of organizing the ice sculptures on Main Street for many years, and we know that people really enjoy seeing these amazing works of art throughout the downtown district. The Courtyard is a perfect venue for an outdoor ice bar and music and will provide another way for people to enjoy this winter weekend.”
