Penn College men 0-2 in Florida
Competing in the Florida Sunshine Shootout at Daytona Beach, Florida, the Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s basketball team was winless in the program’s first trip that far from home.
In the first game Saturday night, UMass-Boston outscored the Wildcats by 11 points in each half en route to a 99-77 win. Livingston Cross of Union, New Jersey, recorded his eighth double-double of the season for Penn College with a 15-point, 13-rebound effort, while DJ Smith III of Dallastown added 15 points, Gavin Barrett of Roselle, New Jersey, scored 14 and Julien Leveille of Maplewood, New Jersey, tallied 12 points.
On Sunday against Norwich College, Penn College led by five points and trailed by six in the second half before forcing ties at 49 and 51, only to be outscored 15-14 down the stretch in a 66-65 loss. Cross again led the Wildcats with 23 points and 14 rebounds — his ninth double-double of the season — and pushed his career scoring total to 912.

Women’s Basketball
For the third time this season, freshman Gigi Parlante of Williamsport was honored by the United East as the Defensive Player of the Week for Dec. 15-21 as she averaged 14 points on 12 for 27 (44.4%) shooting and nine rebounds while adding seven steals and one block in a 2-0 week for the Wildcats. Her eight double-doubles are tied for first in the conference and second in D-III, while her 131 rebounds place her sixth in D-III.
