Penn College Athletics at a Glance

Last week in review: The Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s basketball team posted a 2-0 week, allowing it to move into sole possession of second place in the United East Conference standings, and one of its wins ended a 10-game losing streak against a long-time nemesis.
On the horizon: Archery season gets underway on Saturday.
Also, the athletics department will host its eighth Girls and Women in Sports Day Clinic from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 8, at Bardo Gymnasium on West Third Street. The registration deadline is Friday, Feb. 6. During the free clinic, student-athletes from basketball, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball will instruct participants on the basics of their respective sport. Each participant will have the opportunity to participate in all five sports.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
Last week’s hometown highlights: At Penn State Berks in Tuesday’s win, RaeAnna Andreas, of Berwick, scored 16 points, Kayla Herzer, of Brick, New Jersey, scored 15, and Breana Valentine, of Fairfield, tallied 13 points and pulled down 12 rebounds.
On Saturday at home against Penn State Harrisburg, Valentine scored 21 points, Gigi Parlante, of Williamsport, scored 14, and Mia Patterson, of Loyalsock Township, tallied 11. Parlante and Herzer each had 10 rebounds, and Herzer added 10 points, in a UE win that snapped a 10-game loss string against Harrisburg dating to the 2019-20 season. Harrisburg leads the lifetime series 10-4.

Last week’s hometown highlights: In Tuesday’s overtime UE loss at Penn State Berks, Landon Reeder, of Montoursville, scored 27 points and had 15 rebounds, his second straight double-double game, and Jay Henry, of Warminster, had 23 points.
Hosting Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday, Kendall Bratten, of Philadelphia, came off the bench to score 13 points in a loss.
