Peggy Lou Manning Maynard, 91, of Park Ave., Eldred, PA passed away on Tuesday (November 7th, 2023) at the Olean General Hospital.

Born on December 22, 1931 she was the daughter of Benjamin and Vivian Weaver Manning.  On August 17, 1952 in West Clarksville, N.Y., she married Orton E. Maynard who preceded her in death on May 14, 2023. 

Peggy was a graduate of Olean High School.  Before retiring, she was formerly employed at the Otto Eldred Elementary School in the cafeteria.

She was a member of the Eldred United Methodist Church, and enjoyed knitting, gardening, and sewing and has sewed for a lot of local people in the Eldred area.  Most of all, Peggy enjoyed, and loved to spend time with her family. 

Surviving is one son, Mike (Anne Bennett) Maynard of Eldred; a daughter, Sue Rounsville of Eldred, eleven grandchildren, Nickolas Maynard, Shawn (Nancy) Rounsville, Shannon Rounsville, Joshua (Sarah) Rounsville, Cody (Maranda) Rounsville, Amber Rounsville , Patrick (Kristy) Rounsville , Rosa Rounsville, Christopher Rounsville, Cayden Rounsville, and Irelyn Rounsville; eight great-grandchildren, Keaton(Haley), Aubri, Suzie, Kameron, Emily, Braidon, Brynn and Brax; as well as a great-great Granddaughter, Gracie.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, a son-in-law, Dale Rounsville in 2022; one brother Benjamin (Gertrude) Manning; four sisters, Imogene Olson, Zella Swanson, Maxine Shaw and Tiny “Ann” (Harry) Martin. 

Friends may call on Friday (Nov. 10th, 2023) at the Eldred United Methodist Church from 4:00 to 5:00 pm, at which time funeral services will be held with Pastor Ernie Perry officiating.  Burial will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Portville, N.Y.
