Goodies For Our Troops
As you all likely already know, my aged brain doesn’t retain like it once did so I’m sending this email to cover all bases and make sure you all know that Goodies For Our Troops will be CLOSED all next week of Oct. 2nd.
We plan to hopefully reopen on Monday, Oct. 9th. If that has to change, I’ll let you know. If you don’t hear from me, we’ll go back with the flow then.
Hope you all are getting a chance to enjoy these (finally) sunshiny days of Autumn!
Always, thank you for all you do all the time for our Heroes, Goodies For Our Troops, and me!
Love, Hugs, and God Bless ~

Kallenborn Memorial Bridge Dedicated in Liberty Township

PA State Rep. Martin Causer
A fitting tribute to a man who dedicated so much to our community. I was honored to join in the official dedication ceremony for the Richard “Dick” Kallenborn Memorial Bridge on Lower Portage Road in Liberty Township. As a long-time member of the McKean County Planning Commission, Kallenborn advocated for funding for many infrastructure projects, including this new bridge. We were joined by members of the Kallenborn family, including Dick’s widow, Peggy, who cut the ribbon on the new bridge. Thank you to Liberty Township Supervisors Chairman Dick Brown for organizing the ceremony.

Michael Joseph Pesco, 27, Windber, PA; Former Coudersport Resident

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Michael Joseph Pesco, born and raised in Rockville Maryland, then moved to Coudersport, PA ..Finally became a resident comedian of Windber, Pennsylvania.
Born on September 04, 1996, he entered this world with a quick-witted one-liner and peacefully passed away in his home on September 6, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandmother Marilyn Leeigh Apolito, his sister Jennifer Lynn Pesco, and paternal grandmother Nancy Delrose Pesco.
He is survived by his mother, Michele Ann Pesco, father, Troy R Rongcaglione, sister, Jessica Pesco, grandparents, Steve and Ina Apolito, a very special bond with his Aunt Candi, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
With his mischievous grin, Michael was an absolute riot to be around. He had a knack for turning the most mundane situations into laugh-out-loud moments, much to the chagrin of those who took life too seriously.
Never one to miss an opportunity for a good joke, Michael’s sense of humor was legendary. He could effortlessly spin a yarn that would leave you rolling on the floor, gasping for air. His comedic talent was a beautiful gift that brightened the lives of everyone he encountered.
He had a knack for creating comic relief in even the direst situations. Those fortunate enough would find themselves doubled over in laughter, drinks coming out of their noses, as Michael regaled them with hilarious stories and pun-filled anecdotes.
But Michael’s sense of humor was matched only by his big heart. He strived to bring joy into the lives of others, using laughs as a way to connect and uplift those around him. He was always the first to offer a shoulder to cry on or a clown costume for a friend in need.
He will be remembered fondly by his loving family, who could count on him for a daily dose of dad-jokes and silly puns.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that you take a moment to share a joke, send someone a funny meme, or simply laugh out loud — actions that would honor Michael’s memory and continue to spread the joy he brought to the world. A donation to the American Heart Association, and the Urban Kidney Alliance.
As we say farewell to this incredible comedic genius, we imagine him up in heaven, entertaining the angels with his uproarious tales and leaving even the most stoic cherubs in stitches. Rest in peace, Michael Pesco, and keep them laughing up there! We love you very much! You will always be missed and forever in our hearts.
