Nolan A. Wymer, Sr., 83, of 4117 Phillips Road, Hinsdale, NY, formerly of Eldred, passed away, Thursday April 13, 2023, at Olean General Hospital, with his wife by his side.
Born April 26, 1939, in Olean, NY, he was a son of the late Arniel and Marion (Widrig) Wymer.
Nolan attended schools in Knapp Creek and Allegany High School.
On November 2, 1958, in Buffalo, NY, he married Judith D. (Meyers) Wymer, who preceded him in death on June 21, 2011. On July 3, 2015, in Hinsdale, NY, he married Mildred (Mascho) Wymer, who survives.
Nolan worked at Airco Speer, then Hollenbeck Funeral Chapel. Most of his career he worked for Asphland Tree Service, then as a Foreman at Hazlett Tree Service. He retired in 2001.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Mickey, are three daughters, Laurie (Doug) Strang, Becky Wymer, and Julie (Darren) Barnett, two sons, Nolan (Nicole) Wymer, and Bruce (Cindi) Wymer, three step daughters, Lillian Mascho, Leola Miller, and Loura Milks, four step sons, Ted Mascho, James Mascho, William Mascho, and Andrew Mascho, 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren, one sister, Nancy Wymer, two brothers, Timothy (Sue) Wymer and Terry (Bobbi) Wymer and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Judy, and an infant daughter.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm in the Hilltop Baptist Church, where a memorial service will be held at Noon with Rev. Max Simms, Pastor, officiating.
Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Glenn “Bud” W. Cook, Jr., 88, of Warren, PA
Glenn “Bud” W. Cook, Jr., 88, of Warren, PA, died peacefully at his home with his daughter, Kathleen at his side, Friday morning, April 14, 2023, after a brief illness.
He was born February 14, 1935, in Warren, PA. He was the son of Margaret Alsbaugh and Glenn W. Cook, Sr. He has resided in Warren area his entire life. Glenn was a 1954 graduate of Warren High School where he was an undefeated wrestler in 1954. He was inducted in the Wrestling Hall of Fame.
Glenn was a specialist 3rd grade and Paratrooper, with the U.S. Army serving with Company A, 82nd airborne battalion, 505th Infantry, during the Korean War. While in the service he earned a Parachute Badge and he also wrestled while serving in U.S. Army, in Europe. He was invited to participate in the European Wrestling Tournament with the 505th Infantry and finished as a USAEUR Champion.

Borough Of Galeton Council Meeting April 12, 2023
The regular meeting of the Galeton Borough Council was held this date in the Municipal Building with the following members present: Joe Petrencsik; Doug Droppa; Darrell Jackson; DJ Fuller, and Denny Dean. Not present was Ron Tarabori.
Others present were: Mayor- Katherine Garrote; Foreman-Joe Cimino; Secretary-Andrea Caracciolo; Office Asst-Eleanor Boyd.
President Petrencsik called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. Followed by the Pledge to the Flag.

SECRETARY:
June 3, 2023 will be the Borough clean up day from 8 AM to 2PM. All acceptable and unacceptable items are the same as last year.
Rotary wants to place a gazebo (12 x16) in the park in memory of Pete Folk. Joe Cimino needs to meet with the Rotary and decide on a place to put the gazebo. Would like done before Memorial Day.
Penn Dot will be doing an update on the Pedestrian Crossing Signal. This is being done through a statewide grant through Penn Dot. The Pedestrian crossing signal is at Route 6 & Route 144.
Motion was made by Darrell Jackson and seconded by Denny Dean to adopt Traffic Signal Maintenance Agreement. All in favor, motion carried.
Borough Foreman:
Borough property on Adams Street on the Little League Side of road has 3 pines trees that need to be removed. They also will have the stumps ground down.
Pine trees on Main Street need to be removed can not mow or cleanup around them.
Need to get prices for a lean- to for storing pipe that is taking up space in in the Borough Garage. This space can be used for other things.
The Salt shed for the Borough is in Bad shape need to get prices for a new one.
Darren Stover of Penn Dot will be meeting with Joe Cimino about Paving Popular Ave, Sherman Street and the Hill on Orchard Ave.
Would like to get a generator for the Borough Garage cost is around $4,500.
The cost to grade the road going to the Wetmore will be between $1,000 to $1,200. This could be done by excavation company that is working for the logging company in that area.
SOLICITOR:
New Apartments manager needs to enforce the no smoking policy. This means no smoking on Borough properties.
OLD BUSINESS:
Proposal for Study at the Chattanooga Building with Phase Environmental Site Assessment for $5,182 was received. The Secretary is to proceed with this, it was already voted on at the last meeting.
Secretary is to get the name if a structural engineer to look at a few blight properties in the Borough for possible demolition.

Holly Elizabeth Hamilton, 74, of Kane, PA
Holly Elizabeth Hamilton, 74, of Kane, PA passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 12, 2023 at UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA.
She was born on December 21, 1948 in Kane a daughter to the late Raymond and Betty Sample Allegretto. On October 19, 1968 in Rasselas, she married Gilbert Hamilton and he survives.
Holly was a 1967 graduate of Johnsonburg High School. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Mt. Jewett, where she devoted much of her time volunteering and ministering to youth. Holly loved spending time with family, reading, baking and doing crafts. She especially loved teaching crafts to others and was always making special gifts for loved ones’ babies and for fundraising events.
In addition to her husband at home, Holly is survived by two daughters, Carmella Hamilton of Kane and Beth (Todd) Butters of Bradford; a son, Raymond (Jessica) Hamilton of Wilcox; a brother, Thomas Allegretto of Rasselas; two sisters, Dorothy (Art) Johnson of Wilcox and Hope (Jeff) Hawkins of Pueblo, CO; a sister-in-law Kathleen Allegretto; two grandchildren, Christopher Leonard and Cora Beth Hamilton and two great-grandchildren, Kelli and Kenzie Silvis.
In addition to her parents, Holly was predeceased by a brother Donald Allegretto a sister-in-law Frances Allegretto and an infant grandson Steven.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Holly E. Hamilton will be conducted at St. Joseph Church, Mt. Jewett, PA on Thursday April 20, 2023 at 11 AM with Fr. Vincent Cieslewicz, Pastor as Celebrant. Visitation and Interment will be private.

Karen K. Gentz, Warren, PA
A beloved mother, grame and sister, Karen passed suddenly on April 13, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital with family by her side.
Karen was more than just a mother or grame. She was a teacher, a supporter, a best friend and so much more. Everyone who ever met her loved her. She enjoyed crafting, specifically her diamond art that she won numerous prize ribbons for. She was an avid reader and loved James Patterson novels. Karen also enjoyed her computer games. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
A resident of Warren for over 40 years, a lab tech by trade, Karen made her mark on the community by working in the offices of several physicians and eye surgeons: managing local businesses such as Majik Mart and Video Update for several years. She even coached children’s bowling leagues in the 80s. Karen had also been very active in the local chapter of the Moose Lodge. The last 9 years she was a cherished resident at the Watson Memorial Home.
Karen is survived by her sons Joseph Covino III and his partner Ivan Teutli of Somerset, NJ, Christopher Covino and his girlfriend Molly Gallman of Fort Atkinson, WI; a daughter Karen “Kelli” Covino of Warren, PA; granddaughter, Alasya Luce-Brucker and husband Christopher Brucker, of Warren, PA.
Karen is also survived by her brother Dr. Edward (Ned) Gentz and wife Renee; two nephews Seamus and Graham Gentz all of Albuquerque NM and many cousins in Norristown region of PA.
She is preceded in death by her mother Kathryn (Kitty) McAnulty and her father Edward Francis Gentz, and her best friend Nancy Hussey.
Karen was a neighborhood mom. She was actively involved with her children’s lives and the lives of their friends. She proudly took on the moniker “mom’ by many kids whom she loved and who called her “mom” well into their adulthood. She will be sadly missed by all of them.
A Celebration of Karen’s life will be held at a later date, with details to follow.

Bradford Man Charged After Incident on Jefferson Street, Pursuit by Police
On April 13th, 2023 City of Bradford Police were investigating a reported burglary and criminal mischief at 64 Jefferson Street. Officers observed heavy damage to a door that had been kicked open and they found 4 windows completely smashed out of the residence, as well as personal property damage done to the tenants belongings.
The reporting party indicated that the defendant Paul Graves was the one who had entered with force and done this. Officers learned that Graves was driving a 2015 Chrysler with NY State registration plates. Officers learned that while they were inside the residence investigating Graves had driven by on Jefferson Street.
Officers exited the residence and were standing in the roadway when the 2015 Chrysler sedan was observed driving on Jefferson Street toward them. Officers tried to get the vehicle to stop. Officers could hear and see the vehicle accelerating at them. Officers drew their service weapons at which time the vehicle did not stop and swerved toward the one Officer.
The Officer had to take quick action to move out of danger and avoid being struck as the vehicle fled away. Graves was observed to be driving the vehicle in question.
A felony pursuit was initiated and Graves failed to stop. The pursuit traveled South onto South Avenue, Owens Way, High Street, Minard Run, SR 219 South, Big Shanty Road, and Droney Road. While on Minard Run the defendant Graves nearly struck a Bradford City patrol unit head on but continued to flee. On SR 219 South Graves rammed a Bradford City patrol unit causing moderate damage to both vehicles. The pursuit was ended on Droney Road when Officers took Graves into custody.
Graves resisted arrest and was also found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and/or controlled substances. Graves was charged with numerous crimes related to this incident and arraigned by Magistrate William Todd and remanded to McKean County Jail on $200,000 cash bail.
City of Bradford Police were assisted by Bradford Township Police and Pennsylvania State Police.

On April 9th, 2023 at approximately 2045 hrs, City of Bradford Police investigated a report of a domestic violence assault that occurred back on April 7th, 2023 at 43 Congress Street.
The adult female victim alleged that Zachary Robinson had assaulted her throwing her against a wall, pinning her by her chest and neck restricting her breathing. The defendant allegedly told the victim he would murder her and wanted her to die.
The defendant additionally is alleged to have struck her in the eye. The Officer investigating this incident did observe injury to the victim in her neck and eye area. The victim did seek treatment for said injuries at BRMC ER.
City Police arrested and charged Zachary Robinson with Strangulation, Simple Assault, Terroristic Threats, and Harassment. Magistrate William Todd arraigned Robinson and he was remanded to McKean County Jail on $15,000 cash bail.
Preliminary hearings are set in the matter. Smith Arrested in Bradford
On April 7th, 2023 the City of Bradford Police responded to 132 High Street for a disturbance involving the defendant Bobbie Jo Smith acting disorderly and threatening neighbors.
Police took Smith into custody for the disorderly conduct not only for that day but for multiple instances of repeated disorderly conduct incidents at this residents on High St. Police have been called there numerous times since September 2022 to present.
The defendant was additionally arrested at the same time for Felony Criminal Mischief for INTENTIONALLY damaging the address of 132 High Street to the damage amount of $13,500 in loss to the owner.
Magistrate Dominic Cercone arraigned Smith on these charges and she was remanded to McKean County Jail on $25,000 cash bail. Preliminary hearings are set in the matter. PennDOT and The Dept. of Health Highlight How License and ID Card Holders Help Save Lives Through Organ Donation
Harrisburg, PA – Today, the Pennsylvania Departments of Transportation (PennDOT) and Health (DOH) joined forces to raise awareness about organ donation. Recognizing the national observance of Donate Life Month in April, PennDOT and DOH were joined by Pennsylvania organ donation organizations, Center for Organ Recovery and Education (CORE) and Gift of Life Donor Program to spread the message that driver’s license and identification card holders can easily help another person live a fuller, longer life by registering as an organ donor.
Jonathan G. Moore, 74, of Salamanca, NY
Jonathan G. Moore, 74, of Salamanca, NY died at home on Monday (April 10, 2023) following a short illness.
Born June 5, 1948 in Olean, he was the son of the late Arthur H. Moore. He was married in Crosby, Pa., in 1978, to the former Terrie L. Ream, who survives.
He attended Austin High School, Austin, Pa.
Jonathan had owned and operated J&M Contracting, Olean, for over 30 years, retiring in 2012.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, hiking and watching professional football and baseball. He was an avid traveler who enjoyed collectables as well as listening to music.
Surviving are two daughters, Julie (Todd) Doud of Randolph and Shannon Moore of Olean; four sons, Matthew (Neola) Moore of Smethport, Pa., Daniel Moore and David (Marie) Moore, both of Olean, and Butch Jones of Columbia, Mo.; seven grandsons; a granddaughter; two great-granddaughters; two sisters, Ladonna Gustafson and Ramona Wagner, both of Mexico, Mo.; three brothers, Kenny Moore of Omaha, Neb., Bernie (Jodi) Moore and Richard Jones, both of Columbiana Mo.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Debbie Peterson; and two brothers, Charlie Moore and Donavan Moore.
There will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family and will be announced.
