Underground Utility Work Completed on I-80 in Clinton County
Clearfield, PA – The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that work to replace an underground electrical line near the Interstate 80 Rest Areas at mile marker 194 in Clinton County is complete. The work started July 10 in the grassy areas and shoulder, which caused minimal traffic impacts.
PennDOT has removed the advanced signage and changeable message boards alerting drivers to the work.
Motorists are encouraged to “Know Before They Go” by checking conditions on more than 40,000 roadway miles by visiting www.511PA.com. 511PA, which is free and available 24 hours a day, provides traffic delay warnings, weather forecasts, traffic speed information, and access to more than 1,000 traffic cameras.
Bonnie L. Hoffman, 76, of Bear Creek Road, Ridgway, PA

Bonnie L. Hoffman, 76, of Bear Creek Road, Ridgway, PA passed away at her home, surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, from a long battle with dementia and a short battle with cancer.
She was born on November 23, 1946, in Ridgway, a daughter to the late J. Arthur and Mary Clark Johnson. On October 15, 1994, she married the love of her life, Wayne Hoffman.
Bonnie was a 1964 graduate of Ridgway Area High School. She was employed by several places throughout her life including Grant’s Department Store, Exotic Metals, Clarion Sintered Metals, The Thoughtfulness Shop, USA Today, Goodwill, Sheetz, The Ridgway Record, and Allegheny Coatings.

Intersection Improvement Project at Routes 6, 660 and 4002 Continues in Charleston Township, Tioga County
Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised that an intersection improvement project continues at the intersection of Route 6, Route 660, and Route 4002 (Charleston Road) in Charleston Township, Tioga County. The intersection is located approximately a half mile east of Route 1001 (Whitneyville Road) and 1.5 miles west of the intersection with Bullock Road.
On Monday, August 28, 2023, Charleston Road will be closed between Route 6 and Whitneyville Road. A detour using Whitneyville Road and Route 6 will be in place for this phase of the project. The detour is expected to remain in place for 30-days, weather permitting.

The Potter County Election Board supports National Poll Worker Recruitment Day. Becoming a poll worker helps your community practice their right to vote. Experience is not necessary, training is provided. Poll Workers are compensated for their service and training. Student Poll Workers can receive compensation or community service hours.

GAME COMMISSION ANNOUNCES NEW BUREAU DIRECTOR
The Pennsylvania Game Commission recently promoted Lindsay Moawad to director of the agency’s Bureau of Automated Technology Services.
Moawad replaces Deana Vance, who previously was promoted to Deputy Executive Director of Administration.
Grant Applications Open Until September 22nd
Women’s Giving Circle of McKean County (WGC), a fund held at the McKean County Community Foundation, announces that applications are now open for grants that will be awarded at their annual meeting on November 2nd. Woman Charged After Search Warrant Executed in Cuba, NY
Cuba Police Department

On Tuesday August 22nd, at approximately 1:00 p.m. members of the Cuba Police Department along with the New York State Police K9 Unit executed a search warrant on Hardy Street in the village of Cuba. The search warrant was from a culmination of complaints from the citizens of Cuba and information from tips as well as police operations. Cuba Police entered the residence on Hardy Street and seized cash, methamphetamine and several other items of narcotic paraphernalia.
The following arrest was made in relation to this search warrant:
Erica L. Osgood (42) of Cuba was arrested on charges of endangering the welfare of a child (3 counts, Class A Misdemeanors), criminal use of drug paraphernalia 2nd, sub 3 (Class A Misdemeanor), criminal use of drug paraphernalia 2nd, sub 2 (Class A Misdemeanor), criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th (Class A Misdemeanor), criminal possession of a forged instrument 2nd (2 counts, Class D Felonies) and criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd (Class B Felony). Osgood was processed, placed on pre-trial release and released to appear at a later date. Osgood is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Leona “Onie” M. Dalton, 93, previously of Clay St. in Kane and Elk Haven Nursing Home in St Marys, passed away Aug. 18, 2023 at Penn Highlands Elk
Born Aug. 28, 1929, in Kane, she is the daughter of the late William and Marie (Schmader) O’Donnell. On Sept. 5, 1949, in Kane, she married Clair “Cano” Dalton, who preceded her in death in 2006.
Onie worked as a cook at the Kane Middle School cafeteria for over twenty years.
ServSafe Food Safety Certification
ServSafe is a certification program developed by the Restaurant Association Education Foundation. The course meets certification requirements for individuals who are responsible for the safe handling of food in restaurants, schools, elder care facilities, lodges, bed and breakfasts, community centers, and other food concessions (organizations or businesses that sell or prepare food on a regular basis).
This course, taught by Rick Kralj, Penn State Educator, is scheduled for Mondays, September 25 and October 2, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Education Council’s Coudersport office. Driver Injured in Rollover Crash on East Second Street in Sweden Twp.

At 5:44 AM on Wednesday, Coudersport Fire & EMS have been dispatched to a rollover crash on East Second Street & Woods Edge Lane in Sweden Township. The injured driver is self-extricated from the overturned truck that is over the embankment. A stokes basket has been requested to move the driver to the roadway.
