Montoursville, PA – Motorists are advised of maintenance work next week on Route 4001 (Little Pine Creek Road) in Cummings Township, Lycoming County.
On Tuesday, May 2, 2023, and Wednesday, May 3, 2023, a Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) maintenance crew will be repairing a slide and performing a pipe replacement on Little Pine Creek Road between Route 44 and Little Pine State Park.
Motorists can expect single lane conditions with flagging where work is being performed. Work will be performed during daylight hours, weather permitting.
Motorists should be alert, slow down, watch for slow or stopped vehicles, expect delays in travel, watch for lane changes, and drive with caution through the work zone.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Irene Coneys of Machias, N.Y., formerly of Port Allegany, who passed away on March 16, 2023, will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at 1 p.m. in St Gabriel’s Catholic Church, 203 Arnold Ave., Port Allegany, with the Rev. Joseph Dougherty as celebrant. Burial will be in St Gabriel’s Cemetery, Port Allegany. Arrangements are under the direction of the Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes Inc., Port Allegany.
Ronald L. Bruni, 90, of Meadow Lane, Kersey, PA passed away following a brief illness Friday, April 28, 2023 at Penn Highlands Elk, surrounded by his family.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home.
Richard F. Haberberger, 68, of 242 George Street, St. Marys, PA passed away Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Pinecrest Manor, after an illness of the past several months.
He was born July 12, 1954, in Ely, MN, son of the late Francis and Carole Gahr Haberberger. Rick was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1972. He was a carpenter by trade.
On July 5, 2002, in St. Marys, Rick married Jean M. Blessel, who survives.
He is also survived by two daughters: Chiyvonne Lupro (Cory) of St. Marys and Lacy Nichols (Jeremy) of Roanoke, VA; his son, Derrick Blessel of St. Marys; his step-son, Donald Blessel of St. Marys; two grandchildren: Shane Haberberger (Katrina) and Ethan Nichols; two brothers: Paul Haberberger (Linda) and BJ Haberberger (Lisa), both of St. Marys; several nieces and nephews; and by his beloved dog, Rose E. Bell.
Rick loved to hunt and enjoyed shooting trap. He was an avid Notre Dame and New York Yankees fan and was a member of the CMF. Rick was a member of the “Huntin’ Shack” crew and loved hanging out with his hunting buddies.
A Funeral Service will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at 12:30 PM, with the Rev. Thomas More Sikora, OSB officiating.
Visitation will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Wednesday, from 11:00 AM until the time of the service.
Allison “Alli” Jeanne Brooks (Armstrong) passed away peacefully in Napa, CA on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at the age of 49.
Alli was born on December 19, 1973 in Rochester, NY to James D. (Judy Molyneaux) Armstrong and Jeanne (Geoff) Robillard.
She graduated from UNC Greensboro with a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism and earned her Masters degree in Political Communications from Emerson University. She was a writer at heart, serving in many public relation and communication positions throughout her career. In 2019, she relocated to Napa Valley, California and became a certified wine educator.
In 2012, Allison married David E. Brooks in Coudersport, PA, together enjoyed 18 years of love and adoration before her passing. They had several beloved pets over the years but she had a special love for her cats. Above all, Alli was unquestionably devoted to her family and friends. She loved the outdoors whether it was in her garden or at a festival.
Her most treasured times was when she was able to work alongside her husband professionally back in Pennsylvania and again in California.
In addition to her husband and parents, Alli is survived by her brother Andy (Elizabeth) Armstrong, sisters Rene (Scott) Cook and Regina (Jeff) Raudabaugh. She has several aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews whom she all loved dearly.
There will be a celebration of life planned later in the year.

Charlotte L. Burrous, 86, a longtime resident of Galeton, passed away with her loving daughter by her side on Thursday, April 27, 2023, after a long illness.
Born on Saturday, August 1, 1936 in West Pike, she was a daughter of Grant S. and Mae Shaffer Hall. She was married to Richard Burrous who was the father of her children.
Charlotte attended school in Galeton. She was employed at the former Galeton Products and was also employed at several nursing homes. Her last occupation was a short order cook, working in various local restaurants. One of her greatest accomplishments was raising five children.
In her childhood, Charlotte was a member of the West Pike Baptist Church. While living in Shinglehouse, she was a member of the First Baptist Church. Charlotte loved to read, cook, and being social. In her younger years she loved to garden.
Left to mourn her are two sons, Richard G. (Felecia) Burrous of the State of Washington and Kenneth J. (Tracy) Burrous of North Carolina; a daughter, Emmamae (Richard) Hillyard of Ulysses; sixteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She is being greeted in Heaven by the Lord; her parents; a daughter, Donna M. Burrous; a son, Robert J. Burrous; and several brothers and sisters.
In keeping with Charlotte’s wishes there will be no public visitation or funeral services. Burial will be in Parker Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the LEEK Hunting and Mountain Preserve, 497 PA-244, Oswayo, PA 16915 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

Donald K. Kessler, of 215 Adams St., Olean, NY passed away Tuesday (April 25, 2023) at his daughter’s home, after a brief illness.
Born Dec. 13, 1937, in Shinglehouse, Pa., he was the son of the late Joseph L. and Elsie I. Blaisdell Kessler. He married Anne Lemmer McDonald, who predeceased him in 2012.
Donald was a veteran of the U.S. Army from 1958-1960. He worked for Dresser-Rand in Olean and was a longtime member of the St. Stephen’s Club, Birch Run Golf Club and the Olean YMCA.
He is survived by two children, Lisa (Toby) Miller of Ceres, Pa. and David Kessler of West Clarksville; eight grandchildren, Kenneth (Kari) Miller of Ceres, Emily (Nick) Kinney of Shinglehouse, Allison Miller of Ceres, Damean Kessler, Alec Kessler and Caleb Kessler all of West Clarksville, and Joshua Kessler and Kaitlyn Kessler, both of Port Allegany, Pa.; one sister, Lucille Kimicata; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, Donald was predeceased by two sisters, Shirley Mulkin and Linda Ayers.
At Donald’s request, there will be no services.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Olean YMCA, 1101 Wayne St., Olean.

During this time roadway flaggers will control traffic in alternating patterns. As structure repairs begin in the later spring, temporary traffic signals will be set to enforce the alternating traffic patterns.
Nestlerode Contracting Company, Inc: Bridge replacement on State Route 1011 (Hickox/Ulysses Road). Detour will be in place and traffic will use State Route 1012 (Jackson Road), State Route 49, and State Route 1011.

McKean County is seeking an American Rescue Plan Coordinator to assist with managing programs identified by the county commissioners for funding through the America Rescue Plan Funds. Candidate will work an interim time period with weekly hours to fluctuate with release of funds to community partners. Ideal candidate will have general knowledge of McKean County with knowledge of economic impact funding and grant processes.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for compliance for use of funds by McKean County for American Rescue Plan Funds
Assist Community Partners to identify avenues for resources and/or matching funds
Monitor and assess project impact and identify funding gaps for sustainability
Assist with program design in collaboration with the McKean County Commissioners and staff
to identify global focus and goals of initiative and tailor process to align with those goals
Monitor grant applications and execution from award through compliance to final reporting
Manage marketing and promotion of program in all media outlets including print, online, radio
and presentations as public meetings
Assist with needs assessment to identify optimal impact of American Rescue Plan Funds
Process applications, ensure proper documentation and eligibility and provide general
application assistance to applicants for internal and external reports
Participate in review and ranking criteria to evaluate applicants
Maintain detailed records of application status, eligibility criteria and award notifications
Maintain spreadsheet and financial records of allocated funding, invoices, receipts and
final reporting
Communicate with grant applicants from public, private, government and non-profit entities
General Office Assistance and Other Duties as required
Education and Experience:
Associate’s degree in Business, Planning, Accounting or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred
2-3 years of professional experience in economic development, planning or related field

McKean County is seeking qualified candidates for the Director of Maintenance position.
Reporting to the Commissioners, responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Provide supervision and assistance for full-time maintenance staff and full-time
custodial staff.
Manage and direct work programs, PM and routine maintenance activities of buildings, plumbing systems, electrical systems, boiler systems, HVAC systems, landscaping/mowing, and snow removal programs.
Coordinate and oversee the activities of all outside contractors.
Maintain mechanical, plumbing, electrical, boiler systems and HVAC systems. Coordinate and order contracted services as needed to accomplish repairs not practical to be done by County maintenance.
Manage and coordinate the County’s Safety Program and ensure County compliance with all relevant state and federal regulations and provide information on compliance to the Commissioners.
Supervise and perform work requested or needed on work orders.
Prepare plans, material lists and estimates for County renovation projects and new projects.
Purchase supplies and equipment within the County’s purchasing guidelines.
Maintain facility and custodial supplies.
Maintain utility consumption records of all County facilities as to develop and promote energy saving programs.
Prepare an annual maintenance expense/capital budget for the County.
Prepare safety grants.
Qualifications include:
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent
Technical education in applicable field or equivalent
Experience:
Five (5) years progressively responsible experience in facilities management and safety.
Five (5) years or more experience in the operation of electrical system
and infrastructures, plumbing, building/construction, boiler systems and HVAC systems.
Basic computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
Salary Range: $47,000-$60,000 annually
