Announcing Leadership Potter County 2024

Leadership Potter County is a great opportunity for residents from throughout Potter County to learn about themselves, participate in collaborative experiences and engage in opportunities to become more civic minded.
What do you think makes a good leader? Do you see yourself in a leadership role in the near future or sometime during your career? Do you want to have an impact on the communities where you live and work?
One of the most critical needs at the local level is strong leadership. LPC 2024 will help participants expand their personal leadership skills, provide opportunities to network with cohort members and county residents, introduce them to key issues currently facing the region, and deepen their understanding of future trends that may impact Potter County.
Over the course of eleven months, LPC 2024 will cover important topics that teach participants about their own leadership styles and connect them to valuable resources in the county. If you see yourself as a future leader, then Leadership Potter County is for you!
Leadership Potter County 2024 is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, January 23, 2024. For more information or an application contact Janine Morley at the Potter County Education Council at (814) 274-4877 or jmorley@pcedcouncil.org. The registration deadline is January 16th. Register by December 16th and receive an early bird discount!

Penn College spotlight on men’s basketball

As Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s basketball coach Geoff Hensley gears up for his fifth season, he does so with a good mix of players who bring experience and improved defense to make a move up in program growth.
The Wildcats open their season at home in Bardo Gymnasium against Centenary (N.J.) University at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
“Practices have started very well this year. The team is extremely competitive and hard-working. We return a lot of experience from last year’s squad, which has certainly contributed to the team’s competitive nature,” Hensley said.
Penn College spotlight on women’s basketball

Three solid returning players. Several new impact players. An improved offense. Team unity. Those are just four reasons Pennsylvania College of Technology women’s basketball coach Britni Mohney believes her Wildcats are ready to reach new heights.
Penn College is scheduled to open its season at home in Bardo Gymnasium against Penn State Altoona at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
“Practices have been extremely competitive this year,” Mohney said. “Each year, we look to bring in a first-year class that will make immediate impacts to continue to grow our program, and this class has brought it day in and day out. Their intensity and energy have pushed our returners to step up their games to the next level, which collectively has already made our program better.
Write-In Daniel Burnside for Ulysses Mayor

Hello, my name is Daniel Burnside. I am asking for your write-in vote on November 7, 2023 for Ulysses Mayor. I am a stone cutter, mason, framer, builder, arborist, tree farmer, and wood carver. I am not a liar, coward, or a saint.
I have lived in Ulysses all my life. I am raising my family in this small and great town. I currently do what I can to help our town with anything that has been asked of me. I have many ideas on how to help our town stay as great as it is and a few to help improve it.
On July 23rd, 1995, a drunk driver left his mark on my life, I received a medical separation from the US Navy before I ever got the chance to serve my country in that capacity. So, I’m asking for that chance now. I ask that all voters in Ulysses to vote for me. Approaching 50 with a wonderful wife and 11 beautiful children, we love Ulysses and everything it has to offer. I am asking that you give me the opportunity to serve my community as your mayor.

Vote Daniel Burnside for Potter County Sheriff

Hello, my name is Daniel Burnside. I am a Republican candidate for Sheriff in Potter County. I am asking for your write in vote on November 7, 2023. I am a stone cutter, mason, framer, builder, arborist, tree farmer, and wood carver. I am not a liar, coward, or a saint.
In 2003 the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for obvious political reasons deemed the sheriff departments not a arm of law enforcement, but only an arm of the court.I promise to do everything in my power to ensure Potter County becomes, as it should, a 2nd amendment sanctuary county. With the obvious Marxist political agenda and its effects, not just nationally but locally as well I promise as a sheriff should to communicate knowledge of 2nd amendment infringements to all voters of potter county, through local veteran’s organizations, as well as gun clubs and militias.
A sheriff’s job is not to bend to the will of the Commonwealth or D.C. July 23rd, 1995, a drunk driver left his mark on my life, I received a medical separation from the US Navy before I ever got the chance to serve my country in that compacity. So, I’m asking for that chance now. Here in Potter County, we have 1700 veterans. I believe veterans are the face of God for a nation. I ask that all voters in Potter County vote for me. Approaching 50 with a wonderful wife and 11 beautiful children, we love potter county and everything it has to offer. i am asking that you give me the opportunity to serve my community in this capacity. Change is good, your current government is correct about that. But it’s time to do away with business as usual in local government.
Vote Daniel Burnside for Potter County Sheriff, I ask that Republican and Democratic voters write me in for their Sheriff on November 7, 2023.
