Bradford Regional Medical Center (BRMC) and Olean General Hospital (OGH), Kaleida Health facilities, are proud to announce the October 2024 Star Award winners. This October’s winners were Brenda Pascarella, BRMC, and Sara Durphy, OGH.
Brenda Pascarella, lead revenue cycle coordinator, was recognized as the October 2024 BRMC Star Award winner. She has been with the organization since 2002.
“Brenda is an unsung hero of our organization by ensuring that we’re paid by submitting claims to our payers. She is responsible to monitor daily revenue cycle processes and often has to intervene to ensure that our claims are submitted in a timely manner. This helps our organization to have a guaranteed inflow of money to our organization to meet our financial responsibilities,” said her nomination. “Brenda’s work, though not typically seen by patients and staff, is crucial to provide great patient care. She is efficient, always has a smile on her face, and is always willing to go the extra mile without being asked. We’re lucky to have Brenda.”

“On a daily basis, Sara is always helping in any capacity she is needed. She is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of the department and always presents a calm and understanding demeanor while working with students she manages or co-workers. Sara is an effective communicator, whether it be person to person, shift to shift, or department to department,” said her nomination. “Sara is constantly respectful of the people around her and makes it easy to work with her. We are so very fortunate to have her as part of our team as Sara is fantastic at whatever she does.”
