November Star Awards announced at BRMC, OGH
November Star Award Winners, Becky Moreth, BRMC, and Leasa Peterson, RN, OGH
BRADFORD, PA / OLEAN, NY – Bradford Regional Medical Center (BRMC) and Olean General Hospital (OGH), Kaleida Health facilities, are proud to announce the November 2024 Star Award winners. This month’s recipients were Becky Moreth, BRMC, and Leasa Peterson, RN, OGH.
Becky Moreth, a certified nursing assistant at the Pavilion, was recognized as the November 2024 BRMC Star Award winner. Becky has been with the organization since 2023.
“Becky continually strives to provide excellent care to our residents. She consistently comes in to cover additional shifts. Becky listens to our residents, is a great advocate for them, and takes all of our residents to their appointments. She communicates effectively by reporting back to nurses the information they need regarding resident appointments. She is eager and willing to help our residents with anything from a meal on the road to being their listening ear,” said her nomination. “We are lucky to have her on our team providing exceptional care.”
Leasa Peterson is a registered nurse who works in same day surgery. She started in 2013 and was presented as the November 2024 OGH Star Award winner.
“Leasa goes above and beyond to make her patients feel comfortable whenever they’re here seeing their doctor. She’s described as incredibly caring and has such a compassionate spirit. She not only provides exceptional care, but she also builds bonds with her patients through personalized interactions. Leasa is always kind and attentive to all of the patients that visit her area,” said her nomination. “Leasa is a shining example of how compassion and kindness can make a difference in the time patients spend with us. We are lucky to have her as a part of our team and our patients are lucky to have a nurse like Leasa!”
The Star Award is presented monthly to an employee who demonstrates outstanding performance and inspires the same in others. Staff are nominated for exceptional customer satisfaction, continuous performance improvement, teamwork, communication, ownership/accountability, and excellence through co-worker or patient nominations.
The following were also nominated for Star Awards at BRMC: Nicole Cosper, lead ultrasound tech; and Jim Finland, environmental services. OGH nominees were: Annie Gribble, RN, Intensive Care Unit (ICU); and Cassey Lockwood, RN, ICU.
Star award recipients receive a chamber of commerce gift certificate, additional paid time off, certificate of recognition, and the star award parking spot.
