Nina J. Neel

Nina J. Neel, 99, of Warren, PA went to be with the Lord on Sunday evening, March 16, 2025, in the Warren Manor.

She was born in Dayton, PA on September 16, 1925, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred (Cochran) Bish.

Nina was a graduate of Punxsutawney High School. She worked as a nurse’s aide at the Watson Home and worked for the Warren State Hospital. Nina was a very active member with the former First Baptist Church in Warren, where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, deaconess, and other church activities.

She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and embroidery. Later, she became very active in the First Church of God, in Warren, Pa. Nina loved music, enjoyed playing piano, guitar, and violin. Her favorite music was country music and inspirational music. Nina was also a member of the Ladies of the Gideon’s International, and a member of Sweet Adeline’sOn May 12, 1947, she married Marlin D. Neel, who passed on January 30, 2017.

She is survived by her loving family, David Neel of Utah, Stephen Neel, of Pittsburgh, and Marlene Davidson, of Warren, Pa; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and one sister, Janet Hurst of New Bethlehem, PA.

In addition to her parents and husband, Nina was preceded in death by 3 sisters, one brother, and 4 half siblings.

Family will receive friends on Friday, March 21, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm in the First Church of God, 1111 Madison Ave., Warren, PA 16365. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 pm with the Rev. Bill Hargenrader, retired pastor of First Church of God, Officiating. Private burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park.
