New Scholarship Honors Daniel F. Glassmire VI’s Legacy by Supporting Literary Laureates

Sayre, PA – The Community Foundation for the Twin Tiers (CFTT) is proud to announce the establishment of the Daniel F. Glassmire VI Love and Literary Laurel Scholarship. This scholarship is a tribute to the memory and enduring spirit of a Coudersport native whose life was defined by creativity, compassion, and connection.
A 2000 graduate of Coudersport Area High School, Danny earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2004 from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. Danny was a true “man of letters”, a gifted writer whose words touched everyone who knew him. Whether through letters, poetry, or prose, Danny had a rare ability to express imagination and depth of feeling. His writing was eloquent and meaningful, filled with the same kindness and sincerity he brought to every conversation.
Beyond his literary pursuits, Danny worked as a skilled title abstractor, landman, and excelled in various labor and service positions throughout Pittsburgh, PA. His warmth, humor, and genuine care for others left an indelible mark on all who crossed his path. Danny had a gift for making people feel seen, heard, and loved. He was a true friend to many, especially within his “Coudy” community.
Though his life ended too soon, Danny’s legacy of love, creativity, and connection will continue through this scholarship. The Daniel F. Glassmire VI Love and Literary Laurel Scholarship will be awarded annually to a graduating senior from Coudersport Area High School who demonstrates a passion for writing and literature fields that reflect Danny’s own lifelong devotion to words and imagination. Through this scholarship, Danny’s friends and family hope to celebrate his remarkable life and continue his legacy of compassion, intellect, and artistic expression.
