Nettie B. Treat, Age 85 of Westfield
Nettie B. Treat, age 85 of Westfield passed away at her daughter’s home in Elkland surrounded by her loving family on Monday, October 28, 2024.
Born August 24, 1939 in Elmira, NY, she was the daughter of the late Ernest W. and Hattie Mae (Adams) Tillotson. She married Lloyd S. “Bucky” Treat on March 12, 1960 in Little Marsh, together they shared 57 years until his passing on December 1, 2017.
Nettie earned her nursing degree from Arnot School of Nursing in Elmira and was an RN for many local healthcare facilities, including Dr. Davis in Westfield, Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital in Wellsboro, Cole Home Health in Coudersport and her own personal care home. She was also a minister and lay speaker for many local United Methodist Churches. She was an active member of the Brookfield United Methodist Church where she was the Sunday School teacher and Youth Leader.
Nettie enjoyed playing games and cards with her friends at the Manor but most of all she loved family time and being with her family. She is survived by her daughters, Pamela (Dean) Cady, Troupsburg, NY., Cheryl Treat, Elmira, NY., and Mary (Ryan) Reigh, Elkland, grandchildren, Amanda (Andrew) Sanderson, Pittsford, NY., Brandon (Savannah) Reigh, Curwensville, PA and great grandchildren, Lincoln Sanderson and Nora Sanderson, both of Pittsford, NY. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Miller and a ‘special’ son Fred Griffin.
Family will receive friends at Kenyon Funeral Home, 222 W. Main St., Westfield on Thursday, October 31st from 4:00 – 6:00 PM and on Friday Nov. 1st from 10:00 – 11:00 AM/ A funeral service will be held immediately on Friday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Fitzgerald Reist II officiating. Burial will be in Brookfield Cemetery.
