MOUNTAIN LAUREL QUILT GUILD MEMBERS TO PRESENT INFORMATION ABOUT THE GUILD AND DISPLAY QUILTS AND QUILTED ITEMS THIS COMING TUESDAY, OCT. 14 FOR THE DEANE CENTER’S FREE GOLDEN AFTERNOONS PROGRAM
Members of the Mountain Laurel Quilt Guild in Wellsboro are presenting a free Golden Afternoons program about the local quilt guild and displaying quilts and quilted items made by members at 1 p.m. this Tuesday, Oct. 14.
The Deane Center’s Golden Afternoons program is free and open to adults, 55 and older. It will be in the lobby at the Deane Center for the Performing Arts at 104 Main Street in Wellsboro. Refreshments will be provided.
Peggi Yacovissi will talk about the Mountain Laurel Quilt Guild, a vibrant community organization dedicated to the art of quilting, and display a variety of quilts she has made. With a diverse membership and a range of quilting styles, the guild offers a welcoming space for quilters of all skill levels to come together and share their passion for this timeless craft.
Susan McConnell will present samples of quilted items made by guild members for the many community outreach projects they do.
Golden Afternoon programs coming up are: at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, a Veteran’s Day Sing-a-long with the Wellsboro Rotary Club and at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9, a presentation by Tracey Dwyer Fox about the Wellsboro Glass Historical Association and the history of Shiny Brite ornaments.
