Mitchell Peasley Lewis, 70, of St. Marys, formerly of Emporium, PA passed away Sunday, (Jan. 29, 2023) after a long battle with many health issues.

Mitchell was born Oct. 31, 1952 in Hammond, Ind. to June Peasley and Verne Lewis. His family moved to Smethport his senior year, and he graduated from Smethport Area High School in 1971. On Nov. 10, 1973 he married Willie Schwab Lewis, who survives.

Mitch retired from Motor Coils Manufacturing/GE, where he was employed for 38 years. Mitch enjoyed playing and watching sports of all kinds, especially his beloved Cubs. Before his strokes, Mitch could often be found on the golf course or the bowling alley. He enjoyed dining out and always took his family on adventures to amusement parks, ball games and road trips.

In addition to his wife, Mitchell is survived by his two daughters, Heather (Clinton) Szuba and Ashley Armstrong; grandchildren, Morgan Barnhart, Natalee Uber, Fisher Szuba, Tucker Szuba, and Ashton Fowler; sisters, Denise (Cory) Glickman and Debbie (Mike) Enders; brother, Lance (Loretta) Lewis; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dale Lewis; and a sister, Jeanne Southers.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Mitch to the Emporium or St. Marys Ambulance Associations.

The family will hold a drop-in luncheon memorial from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2023 at Aroma Cafe in Emporium.
