Minor Injuries In Tractor-Trailer Crash on Rt. 249

9130 ROUTE 249, Apt , DEERFIELD
Dept 6,5,25,26 and Wellsboro hospital medics dispatched for a tractor-trailer accident on its side possible entrapment. Lieutenant 6(Seth Davies)got on the scene reporting the tractor-trailer was on its side, the roadway was partially blocked and the patient self-extricated.
Chief 5(Bill Goltz)got on the scene and established command with updated information of minor injuries to the patient. Rescue 6-8 and Chief 6-20 arrived on scene and Chief 5 turned command over to Chief 6-20.
There was some minor diesel fluid leaking from the tanks on the tractor and crews from dept 5 and 6 began to asses the situation and use absorbent pads. Crews also disconnected the battery. We also deployed a trash line for a precaution. Dept 5 also responded with Hazmat 99 as a precaution as well.
Command shut down 249 due to the location on the blind curve and due to the extensive investigation. 26-7 transported the patient to the hospital. B & W Towing and Whites Towing arrived on the scene to begin the recovery. Lot of agencies involved to respond, mitigate, and clean up such an incident and everyone worked together to get the job done.
Units responding were: Rescue 6-8, Engine 6-2, Squad 5-18, Engine 5-3, Hazmat 99-3, 26-7, Wellsboro hospital medics(Recalled), PSP, DOT, Whites Towing, and B & W Towing
