Mildred “Jane” Bennett, 86, Of Smethport, PA
Smethport – Mildred “Jane” Bennett, who was a loving and devoted mother, went to be with her Lord, Monday (March 3, 2025), at the age of 86, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jane was born September 1, 1938 in Kaletown, PA, the daughter of J. Eugene and Mildred B. (Geer) Haugh. On October 20, 1997, at Hamlin Lake Park, Smethport, she married Rex L. Bennett, who survives.
Jane attended school in Enterprise, PA. She was a woman of Christian faith and attended the Alliance Church in Smethport, PA. She was a hard worker and had several jobs throughout her life, retiring from The Bradford Manor at the age of 82. Jane enjoyed her family first and foremost. She also enjoyed camping and her Idlewood Campground family along with ATV riding, traveling and watching football.
She will be greatly missed by her four children, Robin (Jesse) Brewer and Bruce (Kim) Miller, both of Smethport, PA, Randall (Sharon Mitchell) Miller of Gifford, PA, and B. Todd (Debbie) Rice of Redding, CA; stepson, Rex Gary Bennett of Olean, NY, ten grandchildren, Stacy Miller, Christy (Travis Brown) Brewer, Ada (James) Yingling, and Jessica (Andrew) Neatrour, Shane (Renee) Miller, Shana (Elmer) Knauer, Emily Miller, Brian (Cassidy) Miller, Garrett (Alley) Diaz Rice, and Alexis Diaz Rice; 19 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren, her brother Terry (Kathy) Haugh of Texas, her sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Haugh of South Carolina, and Anne Bennett of Eldred. She will also be missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins, her camp family, and by her fur babies, “Gizmo” and “Trip”.
She was predeceased by her parents, her brother, Donald Haugh, and stepson, Jeffrey Bennett.
Friends and family will be received at the Hilltop Baptist Church, 3658 Route 646, Gifford, PA on Saturday, March 8, 2025, from 4-5PM, with funeral services directly following, with the Rev. Max Simms, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Allegany Cemetery.
