Michael McIntyre, 81, of Bradford, PA

Michael McIntyre, 81, of Bradford, PA, passed peacefully on March 14, 2026, with his wife and children at his side.
Born in Springville, NY on April 21, 1944, to his doting mother—Irene—Michael was one of 3 boys. He spent his days playing with his brother Robert and family pets such as dogs and even a raccoon.
As he grew, Michael went to high school in the Springville area before attending Bryant & Stratton College in Buffalo. He later went on to dedicate over 30 years to working at Signore in Ellicottville, NY.
In a coincidence that was so uncanny that it couldn’t be described as anything other than fate, Michael met a woman with his same birthday who would become his wife. In 1975, Michael and Cheryl chose that date—April 21—as their wedding date. Affectionately known as “the birthiversary,” the two of them celebrated 50 beautiful years together in 2025.
An avid outdoorsman, Michael loved spending his time doing any activity outside. Whether it was hunting, fishing, boating, or just sitting on the back deck and watching the birds, he was willing to try anything if he could try it outside. He loved animals (especially cats), holding hands, taking drives on a nice day, and a dish of ice cream before bed.
He was selfless, affectionate and loved a good laugh. There was never a man so enamored with his family and never a family so enamored with a husband and father.
In his memory, remember to tell those you love how much you do. And to do it often.
Michael leaves behind his wife, Cheryl; two daughters, Melissa McIntyre (Eddie Deitz), Megan McIntyre; son, Shawn McIntyre; and one grandson, Logan Deitz; as well as beloved in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Irene, and brothers, James and Robert.
Donations in his name can be made to the McKean County SPCA, P.O. Box 113, Bradford, PA 16701.
Immediate family will have a private remembrance, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc.
