Michael Edward Emer, age 37, of James City, PA passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2023.  

Michael was born in James City on May 12, 1985, the son of Sally Ann Emer and the grandson of Lois and the late Edward Emer.  

Michael attended Kane Area High School and Graduated from Triangle Tech. Mike had various jobs throughout the years, currently employed at Marty Niklas Logging.  It is said that he would “give the shirt off his back” and was always willing to help others when needed.  Mike greatly enjoyed listening to music and was a huge sports fan, especially following the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, Penguins, and of course Kane Wolves. Sports being one of the many things that bonded Mike with his shadow, Arlo. You couldn’t walk around town without seeing them greeting and talking to every soul who walked by. Arlo was Michaels entire world.

Michael is survived by his mother, Sally (Brad Hillman) Emer of Cranberry Township, his brother, Kyle (Lacey) Paup of LaVale, MD, his sister Brooke Balliet of Kane, his brother Hunter (Hannah) Balliet of Saxonburg, his grandmother Lois Emer of Kane, and the joy of his life, his son, Arlo Emer.  Survivors also include his uncles Cy Emer and Bob (Joy) Emer.  Others that were part of Mike’s life include, Lea Brown (mother of Arlo) and her daughter, Layla, former step-grandparents Tom (Alice) Balliet, Janet (Barry) Ewing and former step-father, Doug Balliet.  Cousins include, John, Allison, Olivia Emer and nephews, Sebastian and Graham Paup.  

Michael was preceded in death by his grandfather, Edward Emer and his aunt, Brenda Emer.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
