Melanie J. Wagner, 61, of Middlebury Center passed away Wednesday September 6, 2023, at The Green Home following a long battle with MS.

She was born March 5, 1962, in Wellsboro, to Robert W. and Mary (Badman) McConnell, Sr.

She graduated from Wellsboro High School and worked at the Tioga County Court House, first in the Assessment Office, and later as a Switchboard Operator.

On November 2, 1985, Melanie married John D. Wagner.

They were members of First Baptist in Wellsboro, and also attended the Middlebury Baptist Church. She had been a member of the Order of The Eastern Star Mary Wells Chapter 452, and for several years had served as a bookkeeper for the Tioga County Fair.

She is survived by her husband John Wagner of Middlebury Center; her daughter Lori West (Brandon) of Mansfield; three grandchildren: Mason Robinson, Olivia West, and Emmitt West all of Mansfield; a brother: Robert McConnell, Jr. (Barb) of Mansfield; three nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Gloria McConnell.

Friends and family are invited to pay tribute to Melanie’s life from 10-11am Monday, September 11, 2023 at the Tussey-Mosher Funeral Home, 139 Main Street, Wellsboro, PA, with a funeral to follow at 11am in the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
