Mary Armstrong, 85, previously of James City, PA
Mary Armstrong, 85, previously of James City, PA passed away Thursday (Dec. 21) in Ridgway where she was currently residing with her daughter.
Born Oct 2, 1938 in Kane, she is the daughter of the late Melvin and Jenny (Confer) Cook. On Nov. 26, 1955 she married Michael Armstrong, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Armstrong was a member of New Beginnings Assembly of God and also the Kane Revival Center. Prior to her retirement, she had worked 31 years in housecleaning at the Kane Community Hospital.
She is survived by four daughters, Annette (Paul) Eastman and Cheryl (Paul) Trubic, both of Kane, Michele (Mark) Leslie of Ridgway and Suzette (Dale) Farley of St. Marys; one son James (Tammi) Armstrong of Johnsonburg; a brother Clarence Cook of Smethport; a sister Katherine Moore of Marienville; sixteen grandchildren and many great and great great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Leonard, Lester, Donald and Lawrence Cook; one great-granddaughter, Nyla Annette Payne and one great-grandson, Jimi Nelson.
Friends are invited to attend a viewing on Friday (Dec. 29) at the New Beginnings Assembly of God in East Kane from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 with the Rev. Heather Glogau and Rev. Thomas Eastman officiating
Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
