Mary Alice “Sis” Dalaba, 74, of Port Allegany, passed away Sunday (November 20, 2022) at her home in Port Allegany.
She was born March 15, 1948 in Port Allegany, the daughter of Alfred and Mary (Sherwood) Knell. On Feb. 25, 1965, in Port Allegany, PA, she married Jack A. Dalaba, who died Jan. 20, 2010.
Mary Alice was a 1966 graduate of Port Allegany High School. She worked as a book keeper for Falk Florist and Knell’s Sporting Goods, both in Port Allegany. She worked for her father and later operated the sporting goods store.
Mary Alice enjoyed hunting and fishing, going to Chautauqua Lake, and was instrumental in organizing and attending her class reunions. She enjoyed shooting pool and socializing with friends and family. She loved to attend John Koester’s AMA Professional Hill Climbing events.
She is survived by:
Two daughters: Tammie (Adam) Reinard and Robin (David) Russell, both of Port Allegany three grandchildren: Brittany (John Koester) Reinard, Tiffany (Kevin) Gledhill, and Lindsay (Derrik) Lathrop five great grandchildren: Ashley, Aaron and Anderson Lathrop and Isaac & Rylee Gledhill one brother: Joseph (Juanita) Knell of Port Allegany one sister-in-law Carol Knell of Duke Center and several nieces and nephews
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and James Knell.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 25, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes Inc., 105 Main St., Port Allegany, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, November, 26, at 11 AM, with the Rev. Roger Laktash, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Port Allegany.
