Mary A. Gullifer, 98, formerly of Flickerwood Road, Kane, PA passed away Saturday (November 12, 2022) at the Lutheran Home at Kane.
Born August 7, 1924, in Kane, she was a daughter of Joseph and Anna Fuksa Recny. On December 25, 1943, in Kane, she married Lorren C. Gullifer who preceded her in death on March 1, 2022.
Mary worked at Stackpole until its closing in Kane. She then went to cosmetology school and later worked as a nurses’ aide at the Lutheran Home at Kane for many years.
Surviving are four sons, C. Daniel Gullifer, Randy (Becky) Gullifer, Robert Gullifer and Paul (Tina) Gullifer, all of Kane; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Josie Peterson of Kane.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Eli Gullifer; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Gullifer; three sisters, Theresa Organski, Anne Rolick and Betty Recny; and a brother Nick Recny.
Friends will be received at the Cummings Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 pm and again on Thursday from 1:00-2:00 pm. Funeral services at the funeral home will follow at 2:00pm with the Rev. David Pflieger, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
