Mark R. Cunningham, 74, of Middleport, NY, formerly of Port Allegany, passed away unexpectedly at home on December 26, 2024.

Born February 10, 1950, in Wellsville, NY, he was a son of the late John and Mary Frances (Ryan) Cunningham.

He was a 1968 graduate of Port Allegany High School. He received his BS Degree in Biology from the University of Pittsburgh and later earned his degree in nursing from the Millard Fillmore Hospital School of Nursing.

Mark worked as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department at Children’s Hospital (Oishei) in Buffalo, NY, for over 30 years.

He loved animals of all shapes and sizes, enjoyed golfing and he truly cherished time on his property.  In recent years, Mark enjoyed trips to Australia and New Zealand, Ireland, and Europe.

Mark is survived by his loving wife of over 30 years, Barbara Beetow Cunningham, one sister, Alicia (David) Hill, of Bradford, two brothers, John (Mary) Cunningham, of Scottsdale, AZ,  and Neil (Betsy) Cunningham, of Jefferson, NY, nephews Ryan Cunningham of New York City, Mike Cunningham of Wilmington, NC, Stephen (Machelle) Hill of Zelienople, and nieces Brigid (Ryan) Lundgren of Bradford, Nicole (John) Barclay of Cave Creek, Az, Rose (John) Lamport of Jefferson, NY, many great nieces, great nephews, and cousins as well as his favorite dog, Chloe.   

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew, Sean Cunningham.

A Celebration of Life is planned for family and friends this summer in Middleport, NY.
