Margery “Margie” M. Auman, 98, a resident of Silver Creek Terrace and formerly of 310 George Street, St. Marys was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She ended her journey with us peacefully Monday, October 21, 2024 at Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home.
She was born November 3, 1925 in St. Marys, daughter of the late Herbert and Mary Wolfel Dippold. She was a lifelong resident of the area and was the last surviving member of Central Catholic High School’s Class of 1943.
On June 16, 1951, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Margery married the late Robert P. Auman, who preceded her in death on March 27, 2012.
Margie is survived a daughter, Debra Greiner (Todd) of Ridgway; two sons: Thomas Auman (Christine) and Timothy Auman, both of St. Marys; five grandchildren: Julie Collins(Tom), Jodi Guisto (Phil ), Benji Auman (Lucy), Robbie Auman (Tana), and Tommie Auman; five great-grandchildren: Brennan, Dylan, Nathan, Noah, and Kate; two sisters: Sr. Mary James, OSB, of Bakerstown and Jeanne Gaskill of St. Marys; one brother John “Jack” Dippold (Carol) of St. Marys; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Margery was preceded in death by a son, David Auman; a sister, Edna “Snooky” Auman, and three brothers: Thomas Dippold, Donald Dippold, and Raymond Dippold, in infancy.
She was a devout catholic and a lifelong member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Margie will always be remembered for her loving nature and childlike smile that greeted everyone. Her world was small but her love for family was infinite. She always wanted to give something to everyone, whether it be a kind word or piece of fruit for the road. You never left a visit with her empty handed or without a smile on your face. She never asked for help, but gave it to anyone in need. She made friends easily and cherished them beyond words.
She found joy in the simple things, like her own personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut or a piece of chocolate. She was always dressed to impress with her beautiful jewelry and colorful attire. She loved to read, go for rides, sit outside, look through old photo albums and tell us the story behind each picture. She was a rare gem that shined brighter than she ever knew.
