Marcia R. Burrell, 77, of 10 Wagner Ave Bradford, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.
Born on January 1, 1948, in Bradford, she was a daughter of the late Robert Emery and Eugenia (Bell) Gorton Sr. She was a 1964 graduate of Smethport High School.
In 1964, in Limestone NY, she married Larry R. Hamilton, who preceded her in death on December 16, 1978. Then on November 5, 1982, in Bradford, she married Martin L. Burrell, who preceded her in death on October 20, 2004.
Marcia worked at Zippo for 42 years until her retirement on November 1, 2008.
Marcia loved collecting vintage Santa’s, reading, and country/gospel music. She loved craft shows and going on shopping adventures with her daughters. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She looked forward to watching the evening programs, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She enjoyed the weekly visits with her sister, Terry, niece Cindy and good friend Gail Combs. Known for her compassion and generosity, she was a loyal supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Christmas Child. She was a member of Peoples Christian Fellowship Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Rhonda (Darryl) Case of Bradford, Connie (Stan) Halladay of Gifford , Stephanie (Joe McGraw) Massa of Warren, eight grandchildren, Matthew (Katey Ellis) Case, Porsche Case, Jeffery (Dasha) Halladay, Shawn Halladay, Caroline Massa, Loralei Massa, Lauren Hamilton, Laini Hamilton, four great grandchildren Shiloh Case, Liam Case, Addysin Gross, Colton Halladay, one sister Terry (Bruce) Smith, of Bradford, two brothers, Robert Gorton Jr. of Gifford, Jack (Bev) Gorton of Aiken, one brother-in-law, Larry Dunn of Olean, NY, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one son, Larry “Hambone” Hamilton, one sister, Brenda Dunn, and one sister-in-law, Susie Gorton.
Family will be receiving friends on Saturday, February 1, 2025 from 10:00 am to Noon at Peoples Christian Fellowship Church, 10 Harding Avenue, where funeral and committal services will be held at Noon with Rev. Max Simms, Pastor of Hilltop Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park.
