Madeline N. (Schwab) Tascone, 98, Orlando, FL
Madeline N. (Schwab) Tascone passed away on November 1, 2023 in Orlando, Florida.
Born June 18, 1925 in Bradford, PA, Madeline was the daughter of Rell and Florence (James) Schwab of Duke Center, PA. She was raised in Duke Center among a large extended family throughout her elementary and high school years and was a proud graduate of Otto Eldred High School, Class of 1943, traveling from Orlando to attend her 70th class reunion in 2013.
After World War II, Madeline moved to Bradford and worked at Kendall, during which time she met and married her husband, Joseph F. Tascone of Bradford, who had returned after serving with honor in the infantry in France. Joseph predeceased her in 2011.
During their marriage of 65 years, they raised five children and resided in Olean, NY, Erie, PA, St. Louis, MO, Montreal, Quebec, and Elmira, NY, as Josephās academic studies and career required, before retiring to Orlando in 1999.
Madeline was predeceased by her beloved son, John Francis, who passed away too soon and unexpectedly in 1996.
She is survived by her son Joseph (Ann) Tascone of Elmira, NY, daughter Jeanne Martel of Orlando, FL, daughter Susan Keays of St. Catharines, Ontario and son David Tascone of Milton, Ontario. Madeline is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren all of whom cherish her unquestioning love, guidance and support. They remained very close with Madeline and visited many times at her home in Orlando.
Although she was, sadly, predeceased by her siblings and dear sisters and brothers in law of her generation in the Tascone, Cuiffini and Peroginelli families, family closeness and visits were lifelong.
Madeline lived independently, with dignity and in the loving embrace of all generations of family during her later years.
A brief memorial service, followed by interment, will be held on Saturday, June 15 at 10:00a.m. at the St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum with Rev. John Jacquel, pastor of the St. Bernard Catholic Church, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, anyone who wishes may make a contribution to a charity meaningful to them or plant anything green or flowering in her memory.
Local funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc.
