Lucille A. “Lucy” Nelson, 76, of Warren, PA
Lucille A. “Lucy” Nelson, 76, of Warren, PA, died peacefully at home with her family at her bedside on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, after an 8-year battle with kidney disease.
She was born February 6, 1947, in Philipsburg, PA. She was the daughter of Marcel and Betty Gathagan Lefebvre. Lucy grew up in Philipsburg, PA., and Jamestown, N.Y.
She was employed as a press operator, with Loranger Manufacturing Corp, retiring from there after many years of employment. Lucy was a member of the Warren, PA., First Methodist Church, Warren Moose Lodge 109 Ladies Auxiliary, Warren American Legion Post 135 Ladies Auxiliary. She bowled on the Thursday night ladies’ league for many years.
Lucy loved to play bingo at many places around Warren. She camped for many years, at the Penn Highlands Campground. She loved bunny rabbits of all kinds, real, stuffed animals, knickknacks and jewelry.
She watched NASCAR, and her favorite driver was Kevin Harvick. She loved spending time with family and the pets of the house, Jojo, Ari (big man), and Sylvester (little man). She took many vacations with her sister and mother to Kansas City, to visit relatives there.
Lucy is survived by her only child, Carla Johnson and her husband, Nick of Warren, PA., 2 Grandchildren – Amanda “Mandy” Johnson and husband, Bryan of Oil City, PA., Seth Johnson and wife, Leah of New Castle, PA., 2 Sisters – Barb Wagner and husband, Clyde “Butch” of Warren, PA., Debra Neid and her companion, David of Jamestown, N.Y., her precious little Great Granddaughter – Emery Elaine Johnson, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Raymond C. “Butch” Nelson, Jr., whom she married June 21, 1967, in California, who died July 13, 2015, 1 Sister – Janet Hodges.
The family would like to thank everyone at the Davita Dialysis Center, Warren, PA., for all their support for the last 8 years.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA. A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the funeral home at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Jon Swart, Retired Methodist Minister, officiating. Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park.
