Linda J. Jacobson, 75, of Warren, PA., died Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA., after a brief illness.
Linda was born July 8, 1947, in Jamestown, N.Y. She was the daughter of D. Melvin “Jake” and Carolyn Ruden Jacobson. Linda was a 1965 graduate of Warren High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in education at Edinboro University. She was employed with Warren County School District as a 5th grade schoolteacher at North Warren Elementary School. In 1983, she moved to West Palm Beach, Florida area, where she was employed with the Windbrook Elementary School, as a 3rd and 4th grade schoolteacher, retiring in 2016. While in West Palm Beach, Linda enjoyed local talent, concerts, plays and attending orchestra performances. She was a member of the West Palm Beach Elks Ladies Auxiliary. For the past 6 years, she has resided in North Warren, PA. Linda was a member of First Lutheran Church, where she was a member of the church prayer shawl group. She was also a member of the Lakewood Loyal Order of the Moose Ladies Auxiliary. She was an active member with the Warren Players Club as a costume designer and served as their box office chairperson. Linda was very instrumental in the lives of her nieces and nephews, exposing them to their love of the arts.
Linda is survived by her brother, D. Melvin “Skip” Jacobson and his wife, Marianne of N. Warren, PA., his sister, Elaine Crandall of Warren, PA., 4 Nieces – Carolyn Mummert and husband, Chad of Erie, PA., Joy McMonigal of Warren, PA., Kristen Bosko and husband, Michael of Pittsfield, PA., Melissa Feaster and husband, Kenneth of Warren, PA., 2 Nephews – Robert Jacobson of Charlotte, N.C., Matthew Jacobson and wife, Angela of Killingworth, CT, several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, her brother-in-law, Denny Crandall, longtime companion, Ted Olson.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA., on Friday, April 28, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 Noon. A funeral and committal service will be conducted at Noon with Rev. Nancy Schwanke, officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Lakewood, N.Y.
