LIBERTY PRESSED METALS PRESENT CHECK
Elk County- Doug Gaffey, Owner of Liberty Pressed Metals and President of St. Marys Area United Way along, Shane Ford, President of Liberty Pressed presented a generous donation to Jason Gabler, St. Marys Area United Way Corporate Campaign Chair, Doug Bauer, United Way Payroll Program Chair, Jim Ryan, United Way Vice-President; Leah Whiteman United Way board member, and Mark Saline United Way board member. Β Liberty Pressed Metals is a local powder metal company located in Kersey, Pennsylvania, and is engaged in the design, engineering, and production of Powder Metals (PM) components for use in the automotive, lawn and garden, office equipment, power tool, home appliance and Industrial and Commercial Conveyor markets in North America.
Liberty Pressed Metalβs $2,000 donation will support the St. Marys Area United Way 2023 campaign. The United Wayβs 2023 campaign goal is $200,000. Funding raised in 2023 will be available for eligible organizations to seek grant funding for 2024. In order to be eligible for funding from the St. Marys Area United Way, an agency must: have a current 501(c)(3) status, provide services to citizens living within the St. Marys Area School District, provide services to meet health and human welfare needs, and be registered with the PA State Bureau of Charitable Solicitation or be exempt from registration. The St. Marys Area United Way encourages any organization interested in seeking grant funding to inquire by calling 814.781.6000 to receive an application or visit www.smauw.org. The 2024 grant application deadline will be December 15, 2023, with grant awards announced in 2024.
As a result of the 2022 campaign, the St. Marys Area United Way provided grant awards in 2023 to Alcohol and Drug Abuse Services, Boys & Girls Club of St. Marys, Boys Scouts-Bucktail Council, CAPSEA, Catholic Charities, City of St. Marys Parks and Recreation, Crystal Fire Department, Dickinson Center, Elkland Search Rescue, First United Methodist Church, Girl Scouts of Western PA, Guardian Angel Center, St. Marys Area School District, St. Marys Library, and the Veteranβs Memorial-Eternal Flame located on the Diamond downtown St. Marys.
The St. Marys Area United Way has served the citizens of the City of St. Marys and surrounding counties since 1925. The St. Marys Area United Way relies on contributions from companies and local individuals.
