Last Day Coyotes at Rolfe Beagle Club’s Coyote and Fox Hunt or Trap
Johnsonburg, Pa.: Second-trip predator hunters from St. Marys, Elk County, helped round out the last day of Rolfe Beagle Club’s Coyote and Fox Hunt or Trap by bringing in coyotes to the weigh station.
Jim Miller hunts private lands in Elk County and successfully called in a 27.2# male coyote with a FoxPro electronic call over the weekend. Jim shoots a .22-.250 rifle with a thermal scope.
Brady Nussbaum also made his second trip to the weigh station during the Hunt or Trap and brought in three predators all harvested on private lands in Elk County. Brady started off his successful weekend at midnight on Friday by harvesting a female gray fox weighing in at 8.8#. Brady was shooting a .243 rifle with a thermal scope, and was scanning only on Friday. On Saturday at 9:30 pm he was using a FoxPro electronic call, and called in a 32.0# female coyote in Elk County. Later in the evening, at 1:00 am on Sunday, he harvested a 33.0# male coyote.
Hunters are reminded that Rolfe Beagle Club will be offering their 10-day coyote/crow hunt from August 28 thru 6:00 p.m. on September 6, bracketing Labor Day.
