On October 31, 1964 in the West Branch United Methodist Church; he married Kathleen Clark who survives.
Larry’s story began on a small farm up Harrisburg Run, where he grew up surrounded by family and horses. His “no fear” nature led him to ride broncos for a short time in the rodeo circuit. He worked alongside his father in their family-owned oilfield.
Shortly after marrying his adoring saint of a wife, Kathy; he took a position at General Electric in Erie, PA. Shortly after, it was a call to work at Case Cutlery that became a defining moment in his life, where he learned the skilled trade of knife-making and became a highly respected hafter. After 36 years of working for Case; he retired in 2004.
When faced with a cancer diagnosis, Larry’s resilient spirit shone even brighter. He courageously assumed the role of spokesperson and advocate for living with an ileostomy, sharing his journey with others to inspire and uplift them. He often crafted small items to sell at the hospital, using his talent to give back even during challenging times. Known to many as a dedicated volunteer at BRMC hospital during his retirement, Larry was always quick with a warm greeting and a helping hand for those in need. His commitment to his community and ability to connect with others highlighted his generous spirit.
Many know of Larry’s love of the Buffalo Bills. He was a longtime season ticket holder and a proud member of the Bills Mafia, sharing his passion for football with friends and family. Larry’s greatest treasures were the pets he adored throughout his life, his guns and knives, and his grandchildren. He had a remarkable way of forming connections and making a lasting impression that transcends time. Larry lived a life of purpose, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him.
