KINZUA QUALITY DEER COOPERATIVE ANNOUNCES AGENDA FOR DEER SEASON “KICKOFF” ON SUNDAY, OCTOBER 22
Bradford, Pa.: The Kinzua Quality Deer Cooperative (KQDC) announces the following schedule of events to take place on Sunday, October 22, at its Deer Season “Kick-Off”. All events to take place at the Bradford Campus of the University of Pittsburgh in the Frame- Westerberg Commons Mukaiyama University Room. All presentations are FREE and open to the public.
12:00 noon – Doors open;
12:30 p.m. – State of the Whitetail – Trends in Harvest & Management Programs, by Kip
Adams of the National Deer Association;
1:40 p.m. – Hunters’ Light Buffet Luncheon;
2:30 p.m. – John Dzemyan, Coordinator for the KQDC – presentation on Habitat Conditions, Wild Native Plants that Deer Need, and How to Get Involved with Deer Management;
3:30 p.m. – Dr. Linda Ordiway, Forest Biologist for the Allegheny National Forest – presentation on “How to Use the Interactive Map for the Allegheny NF and the KQDC”;
3:55 p.m. – Drawing of Door Prizes and Closing Remarks; and
4:00 p.m. – Doors close.
Kip Adams is an avid hunter and certified wildlife biologist from Knoxville, Pennsylvania. He has a bachelor’s degree in wildlife and fisheries science from The Pennsylvania State University and a masters in wildlife from the University of New Hampshire. He is also a certified taxidermist.
Before joining the National Deer Association, Kip was the deer and bear biologist for the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department. Kip and his wife Amy have a daughter Katie and a son Bo.
